When I mean "goon books" I mean stuff like Neal Stephenson's Autism: The Book or Cormac RR Macarthy's A Song of Blood and Meridians. Also any good suggestions for mystery series would be good too, thanks.

Murakami's 'Hard-Boiled Wonderland at the End of the World" is like, kind of cyberpunk while still being written by an author that you don't need to be ashamed about reading among civilized people. Unlike JRR Carmack.

You should start reading those 50 shades book on buses and trains. Every time a middle aged woman walks by, exchange glances with her and give a knowing nod while raising an eyebrow.

From President of the colonies to this.
House of Leaves
"The format and structure of House of Leaves is unconventional, with unusual page layout and style, making it a prime example of ergodic literature. It contains copious footnotes, many of which contain footnotes themselves, including references to fictional books, films or articles. Some pages contain only a few words or lines of text, arranged in strange ways to mirror the events in the story, often creating both an agoraphobic and a claustrophobic effect. The novel is also distinctive for its multiple narrators, who interact with each other in elaborate and disorienting ways."
