the arrows are references from one journal entry to another, and i made the graph partially to get an overview of how the entires referred to one another and to verify that i hadnt missed anything.

the top video is pro as hell - I had no idea so much work went into designing colormaps. great, detailed explanation too

and it has real world benefit: better data display aids more accurate medical diagnoses

I'm sure there is some great reason Rene has for why that is the default but I can't imagine a more ugly color scheme.
