Six Feats Under (iTunes) is a podcast I GM for and help organize. Our central product is an ongoing 13th Age Campaign that started with the playtests and is currently in Epic Tier. Those episodes are interspersed with Bonus Feats; one-shots and miniseries from a variety of systems with a variety of guests. I'm a big fan of the World Wide Wrestling, Goblin Quest, and Night Witches games. The Bonus Feats are also accompanied by discussions about general roleplaying topics that relate to the game at hand, like talking about the Japanese RPG scene with Ewen Cluney, or discussing premade adventures between running two groups through the same Costume Fairy Adventures playset. We have a tumblr for in-character asks, announcements, and collecting fanart. You can follow along in our SA thread too!

Upcoming episodes include Ehdrigohr with Austin Walker, 13th Age in Glorantha with Rob Heinsoo, and episode 73 of LP13A where we learn the details of The Physical Challenge. Our first "official" convention appearance is coming up October 16-18: http://13questions.tumblr.com/post/129522655038/six-feats-under-at-valorcon

One Shot and Campaign are my favorite podcast of any kind. I encourage everyone to check them out. James and Kat are arranging the panel at Valorcon I talk about in the link above if anyone wants to come and see.

The final schedule for ValorCon went live today, so I put together a list of events that relate back to Six Feats Under: http://13questions.tumblr.com/post/130368378253/six-feats-under-at-valorcon
One Shot and Campaign fans will be spoiled for choice. James and Kat are going to be all over the place.

LP supergroup The Men Drinkin' Coffee have started a new Actual Play video series called Men Quaffing Elixirs: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmkjEUJHDFaroqxKmzc_kKveCcqPdMs_m

They're using FATE Accelerated to play a typical D&D adventure in a typical D&D world, as conceived of by three players who have never played an RPG before and clearly have no interest in doing it now. It still works somehow, but go into it expecting a lot of giving wedgies to nerdy nobles and little to no invoking aspects.

If you're like me and need far more podcast content that the internet can provide, the early 6 Feats stuff is still worth a listen. The Drakenhall hiest and the Hellhole casino are some of my favourite set pieces in the entire series. I think the 13th Age/Six Feats stuff is only like 3/4 years?

I outlined the plot as a macguffin hunt because I knew we'd be getting people asking this question down the line, and that structure would keep it acceptably episodic. I agree that session 40 is the start-of-arc episode that does the introductory thing best, but any of them do the job. The old episodes are steadily being added to the new site, and that process is up to the casino hellhole right now. My favorite feature of the new site is this timeline that helps summarize the whole thing and lets you choose your jumping-on point: http://www.sixfeatsunder.com/13th-age-the-rogue-elements/story

Again though, the Bonus Feats have great stuff, and the biggest of them is only three sessions.

I just finished listening to One Shot's Legend of the 5 Rings actual plays. Anyone who hasn't, you need to check that out immediately. Also they need to run another one of those games, STAT. It was so good. So good.

The Reflections session might fill that need. James and Jim play feuding Samurai in a playtest for Jim's game that recently finished its Kickstarter funding: http://oneshotpodcast.com/podcasts/one-shot/158-reflections/

Friends at the Table wrapped up their Marielda mini-series today. It's a round of The Quiet Year that sets up the city of Marielda, then a story told with Blades in the Dark that covers three heists and the lives of the team between them. While technically a prequel to their first season, I never felt lost despite having never (yet) listened to the stuff they were setting up. It's a wonderful story in its own right about heroism, heists, and the consequences that come of having no good options. I'm still sitting at my desk and listening to the music.

My show, Six Feats Under, started with a 13th Age campaign before branching out, getting the best looking website in the AP scene, and everything else that makes us what we are. But still, the 13th Age campaign continued. We can't say that anymore. After years of our lives and the entire level progression. Here's the end of it all, which happens to be the best episode we've ever made: http://www.sixfeatsunder.com/episode/the-end/

I know you won't believe me, but this final episode is a perfectly valid place to start. We've got some space travel, a concert to rebuild the world, graduation hugs, a gay elf wedding, and story time with grandma. You can reada cliff's notes version of the whole campaign on our story page which also links to the start of each arc.

Mako buying a fleet of construction Riggers and a hoverboard with cash he doesn't have is the best bit of the Mechnoir sessions, and those acquisitions will be important. Just reading this post will have you caught up with the facts you need, though.

Wait, "I would like a bribe" is really early too. Two great bits from before the switch.

And the death of Territory Jazz; that's three.

I've worked this out of my podcast backlog, and mice are adorable, but I've got through to summer and there's something you never do right.

Specifically, whenever a player rolls the dice, with a very few exceptions they should always know what the obstacle is in advance. If it's an independent test against a static obstacle, they should know. what the number is. If it's a versus test against a GM-controlled character, the GM should always roll dice first. This is discussed on pages 85 through 88 of the first edition rules, which I'm pretty sure you're playing with since the special uses for wises haven't come up yet. If you've got the second edition rules it should be in that rough neighborhood.

Only in the case where it's one guardmouse trying to outargue or outrace another does a player roll blind - in that case, the senior guard rolls to present the junior guard with an obstacle.

This is done so the player knows in advance how hard things are going to get because they have to make a bunch of decisions before they even roll, like tap Nature/do a whip-round for help/check a trait because it's going to be easy or impossible so might as well.

I realize how much that can fly in the face of the stock GMing rhythm, and maybe you tried that as a pilot but it didn't work out for you, in which case I'm sorry to bring it up again. But the game really should be played that way.

You're right, and I've been getting better at it since you sent me that message. We're nearly through all the episodes recorded up to that point, and you get a shoutout by name for providing that note when West patrol heads to Barkstone.

Anybody have a good sample episode for NeoScum? AP's have a hard time catching me when the players/characters are new and haven't really jelled yet. I'm looking to see what the campaign turns into before starting back at the beginning.

It's obviously devoid of context or plot, but it's exactly what you're going to get. Neoscum good.

Six Feats Under's website host closed up shop a few months ago, and today we relaunched our new site. It's helpfully reorganized, and now has a search function. It's one of the best ways to follow our new Monsterhearts 2 mini-campaign: https://www.sixfeatsunder.com/campaign/monsterhearts-2

And if anyone does miss hearing Kat Kuhl running a game, she's making a show called Autonomic. It uses a system she helped develop for Roll20 and the cast is also full of Campaign/One Shot regulars. It's intended audience is kids and it's set in a kind of magic school (a huge disaster struck 12 years ago, so all the great heroes have their reincarnations getting trained at the same time). Updates can be irregular, and the kid focus may not land for everyone, but Kat and the cast have an infectious amount of fun. https://autonomicpodcast.com

Actual Plays really sell how bad the latest iteration of Apple Podcasts is. Something like 6 Feats Under where I have saved many shows to go back and listen to when I reach the mythical state of caught up on my podcasts, but also wish to keep up with their Mouseguard show (which is great btw) good luck. So much scrolling and confusion.

I have moved nearly every show I listen to over to a different app but shows like this that sometimes need to be synced to my car iPod because they are fun to listen to in the woods, I would have to maintain two copies of each show.

E: Speaking of Mouseguard I just got to Eldrick (sp?). Oh god what a terrific character, lol.

Thank you so much! Congrats on making it near-current, I know we don't make it easy.

I re-caught-up on Six Feats Under Mouse Guard. Season (series?) Finales were both great, the whole thing was great and it all ended happier than I was suspecting. The acting quality isn't something I come to AP for usually but the RP was really really good.

Thank you so much! We are getting to the end of the story now, which is wrapped up in a whole mess of feelings personally, but I just want to be perfectly clear that there is more to come. The end of Famine 1149 special is currently being edited and scored, and the finale episode is about half-recorded as of now. We're also toying with the idea of an epilogue session, but no commitments have been made there.
