I'm sure someone else has the idea to use my name, likeness, and append BTHR just to make me look bad. I can do that on my own just fine, thankyouverymuch.

To answer the second question. NOPE.
Why? I recognized early on that other people had similar ideas as I, and they had just as much right to talk to CIG for whatever "news" they deemed worthy.
A little competition never hurt anyone. I'd never be that shallow to say NUH UH! FIRST. I should get it!

It was started to be an innernets radio station for players of games whilst they piloted their ships through the PU.

I realized early on that there was nothing worth covering in Star Citizen, at least until there's a game to actually play, so we branched out to other stuff.

Tech news, current events, gaming news, music.
My show, which airs Saturdays from Noon until 3pm eastern is called "The Show with BS"
Another show that we're trying to get running again is called "Drinking and Dicing" - where we buy a tabletop game, an adult beverage of commensurate value, and then playtest and review them both (thankfully, this isn't a live show).

There were a few other shows that have come and gone, one was a Goon-based show (which I enjoyed very much) called VCRS.

That was pretty much my reaction when I first got into the beta. Some goon was trying to convince me that exploring would be this epic thing and you'd get to see all of these sights, so when I logged in (after figuring out controls) I opened up the map and zoomed out.

My jaw hit the floor. It was even worse after I realized the scale once you factored jump range and fuel into it (Cause we didn't have fuel scoops at first).

It took me 3 hours to cross from one side of 0.0 space in EVE to the other, it was something like 86 jumps (with a few detours upon encountering blobs and dirty gates) but I did it.

3 hours of straight line travel in Elite moved me like a quarter of an inch across the galaxy map when zoomed all of the way out.
