It's 100% a normal thing for a development office to be accused of racism and then go grab a new hire and an office manager and start putting them on camera every week on the show about answering development questions. I bet that office lady has all sorts of insight into the development of the game! I mean why else would Sandi put her on screen, right? RIGHT?

CIG's PR team decided to write an open legal threat, and then an overly emotional crazytrain letter from the CEO, and then have their white middle-aged men write various testimonials all over the internet, and then grab the first black people they saw and shuffle them in front of the camera. And then the head of PR gave a tear filled speech at the opening of the biggest exhibition of their game for the whole year, and it was entirely about herself, and then they gave her flowers on stage.

I don't think you can draw any conclusions at all from this behaviour. Sandi posts old graduation photos, part of a letter from university, talks about stumbling over old references after Derek brings it up. She's basically completely poo poo at dealing with any form of criticism, so it's in character and no wonder at all that she's currently tripping over non-white people everywhere. That's doesn't make any of it true, panicked reactions just make you look dodgy.

Claims that CIG Santa Monica is a highly racist environment due to Sandi's prejudice are speculative and based on anonymous claims in an article... I don't personally place too much stock in that particular assertion -- I think its easier to believe she thinks herself superior to nearly everyone beneath her, regardless of race. If emails or videos come out that corroborate the claims, well, then I'd change my mind. And yeah, that WOULD be a gotcha moment.

Claims that Star Citizen's lore is derivative of a myriad of other sci-fi properties (films, games, etc.) are incontrovertible-- and its been discussed here before. I just don't think we've started to make a list of which properties they are reappropriating and where. You may find it unworthy of discussion -- I find it worthier than beating the "Sandi is a racist" gong, which, incidentally, is why I brought it up.
