Did I miss an explanation for what was going on with the surgery Crandall made the other guy watch? I thought they made it look like it was some kind of brain surgery and thought there was going to be a twist that he was freezing just the brains or something like that, but then at the end, no, it was full bodies he was freezing.

Liz's incompetence at making waffles is now my favorite thing that has happened on this show.

I finally got around to watching the last few episodes of the season, and in the scene where Spader is saying to Kaplan how he would've named everyone else on the planet before her as someone who might betray him, all I could picture was Dembe being to the side just out of frame giving him a "Really? I'm right here!" kind of look.

Keene saying "I'm to your left" to let Reddington know where to shoot through the mirror is the most competent thing I think she's ever done on the show.

This show is so stupid and terrible and I don't know why I'm watching it anymore. Even the occasional Spader scene is not quite enough anymore. But of course now I'll watch the next few episodes just to find out what happens with Mr. Kaplan.

Did Spiner show up in one episode as a bad guy of the week or is he a recurring character now? (I gave up on this show a little while ago but I guess I'll come back for this.)

BrandonGK posted:So Mr Kaplan was Liz's nanny who practically raised her and loved her like a daughter? That explains the numerous scenes where Kaplan treated Liz as someone who was a passing acquaintance at best, someone to be tolerated at worst. Yeah, I liked the idea of getting Kaplan's backstory but then thought it was kinda dumb when it turned out that much of her life revolved around Liz. I still think the writers are convinced for some reason that Liz is this super interesting captivating amazing character.

The only good part of that was Reddington's Retirement Plan Island which, while ridiculously over-the-top and impractical, is exactly the sort of thing a supervillain criminal mastermind should have.

Oh I would enjoy that scene. "What makes me so special? It's just because I'm your daughter, isn't it?" "Good heavens, yes. [laughter] You didn't think it could be anything else, did you? You've got all the personality of a wet tissue and the intellect of a bag of rocks. You're my greatest disappointment in life. But you're still my daughter."
