I have a question: why do angels carry around bulky, heavy bodies if they can interact with the world without them, as we've seen White Chain do?
Also, uh. When you see all the face and heel turns that White Chain does in a short period of time, she seems very... not exactly indecisive, but perhaps too easily swayed.

Pretty sure an angel outside of its armour is significantly more vulnerable - if the armour is destroyed the angel is just forced into the void but if their flame form is killed they have to reincarnate.

White Chain has been questioning her loyalties and motivation every which way. It's an extension of how she's acted for the entire story, to my eyes - where among other angels she asserts her individuality and identity, but among mortals she tries to put up a united front with her brothers. Now the head of her order has teamed up with a rival order, pushing her to control and even betray the one person who actually cares about her and trying to quash that same identity.
That's pretty much what Vigilant Gaze's role in this chapter has been - to help her decide for herself who she really is and what she wants to fight for. With Juggernaut Star serving as the model for what she might become if she stayed on the course she was on.

The thing is they can't interact with the world without a body. What White Chain did was a very unusual and reckless thing. She was able to keep herself intact because she was still connected to her body and extending herself out of it but this is apparently supposed to be a very risky thing to do. Angels can't normally exist outside the void without a physical body, as I understand it. The bodies were actually built by humans if I remember it right to bring the angels back to throne after Zoss threw/killed them all out.

White Chain is basically going through an identity crisis, and has been for who knows how long. Because her identity as an angel is tied so deeply to her loyalty to someone who turned out to be an omnicidal maniac, and tied into her gender identity issues, it only makes sense that she's changing her mind so much. She's figuring things out, but they don't always stick because she still has millennia-old bad habits ingrained in her mind.

Also I think it's because angels need the shell to stay grounded to physical reality. Like, when White Chain leaves her body entirely, she's just a ghost in the void again, like when she was punished by those root knights before. When she was doing cool angel stuff, she was still connected to the body by a little wispy umbilical. So the risk is that someone either severs that or attacks the body directly, in which case she'd just be stuck in another plane until someone made her a new one.

My guess is they may have truly been wounds. Perhaps gunshots from extremely high caliber weapons. Or from where needles punctured her to send her back to the void.

It seems to me the most basic vulnerability of Ki-Rata is preventing your opponent from breathing. Whether by punching them real hard in the lungs or using magic to create a vacuum around them or just envelop them in a bunch of smoke.

Seems legit. Of course, he got his son killed in a pointless bloody war before he got to that point. Which I suppose also fits with backstories in this universe.

It's way worse for her than that, because angels don't appear to experience socialization beyond being created by a God hammering the old law into their bodies and hey welcome to life you're a space cop now. Telling a small lie with the best of intentions cracked her face. She isn't just rejecting a way she's been taught to think about herself: she's deciding that an irreducible part of what she is is wrong.
