Talk about media or activities that are generally considered bad but you (secretly?) enjoy. Maybe you watch trashy reality TV, or maybe you can actually tolerate TVTropes' existence. Stuff like that. I have a bunch but I'll start off with this song, from Eurovision 2015: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=M8ZADtaAvDA Even by Eurovision standards it's meaningless trash, but so help me it's catchy as all hell. Time is like thunder ha-ahhh~.

Trashy Korean romance melodramas. Anything with a rags to riches story involving a hunk who takes his shirt off every few episodes is my idea of a perfect afternoon.

80s hair metal. Specifically singing along, loudly, to 80s hair metal. The music is cheesy as gently caress and the outfits are ridiculous (plus I can't sing for poo poo), but I don't care! Some Bon Jovi comes up on the radio and you can bet your rear end I am singing along to it!

Novelty music, especially stuff from the 30s and 40s, like that song Gale from Breaking Bad was listening to right before he died. Also, Tiny Tim; sometimes I put on my extra-fancy headphones just for the purpose of listening to Livin' in the Sunlight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjK-q7ZTYgU Look, the bass part is really cool, okay?

It's so, so dumb but I kind if miss it and should really take out my copy and use it one day.

I'm 23 and I still play various online pet sites. Over the past 12 years I've gotten more and more ashamed, but I just can't stop. Sadly the communities are mostly intolerable and I wouldn't dare tell my friends that I play them, so my experiences are quite lonely. Silver Falcon posted:80s hair metal. A lot of people give them poo poo, but you put Livin' On a Prayer or Wanted: Dead Or Alive on at a party and you know everyone will be singing along before long.

Add me to the Bon Jovi appreciation train. Which leads into my musical guilty pleasure. Torch songs and Power Ballads from the 80s and earlier. I know they are cheesey as gently caress, and blatantly emotionally manipulative, but be hosed if I don't tear up a little and love to belt them out at gusto. Bon Jovi's best is Bed of Roses by the way. Also this one from Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand touches me. All y'll can shut up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wj10EzNKA2M

I refuse to be ashamed of being susceptible to crying because of media, even video games. Hell, some tracks from Mother 3 even still make me tear up a bit contextless on my phone. Oh, that's another one; almost my entire music library is video game soundtracks. I'd probably appreciate a bunch of real songs if I went looking but eh I have hours of music as it is.

My "normal" music tastes run towards like, alternative rock and classic punk music. But I'm a huge sucker for cheesy 90s and 00s club/dance music. Something about the high tempos and catchy melodies ironically relaxes me and always has. But it's totally music I don't listen to when anyone else is in hearing range I might know. I have a lot of other lovely tastes in things, but don't feel guilty about any of it. If you don't like my crappy low budget horror movies I watch almost exclusively, there's the door.

In the late 80s, there was a battle between two girl pop singers - Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. One wrote and produced her own music while still in high school and the other one was Tiffany - a mall rat with a horrible voice. Gibson actually had some talent and wrote some infectious pop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IivGqwQvdCI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8I_WavHGBdA

In the same vein (fake edit: as two and three posts up), it's not my favourite, but seeing as where I live doesn't have a Gloria Jean's, McDonald's coffee in Australia varies from not terrible to, with the right barista, actually quite good.

Cigarettes are pretty great. Especially when you're feeling stressed. You can stop, go outside and stand in the fresh air and relax. I wouldn't want to smoke regularly, because I've done that before and it just becomes normal so you don't get much from it, but once or twice a year it's really nice to smoke a pack of cigarettes over the course of a couple of weeks.

Cigs are awesome and it's such a shame they're terrible for you and my lungs are such poo poo. Every once in a while I can't resist one or two if I'm out drinking and then I'm dying of bronchitis within a few days. I feel like if your guilty pleasure can actually kill you it's probably not a good thing to do let alone talk about without shame.
