gently caress interiors. Post your favorite comic book covers. Post the worst. Post news on all the hot variants coming out like this terrible industry depends on 'em! DC, I will buy a giant over-expensive hardcover coffee table book of the Darwyn Cooke variant month covers. I'll buy ten. Gimme. Just to get things rolling: Uncanny Xforce was probably the last comic I read and cared about, especially the Esad Ribic covers with the Jerome Opena art. Googling anything by both is basically pure gold. They got the whole mind and spirit of Frazetta and made it the essence of their work. Detective Comics 857 JH Williams III's covers for the 'Elegy' storyline (Detective 854-860) are the only comics I have framed on my wall. Certainly the New 52 series suffered without Rucka's writing but the covers are even better than Elegy's in my opinion:

It warms my heart that amid all the terrible crap that gets so much praise there's some truly fantastic artists working on comics. That Del Mundo capsule cover is mind-boggling. EDIT: I only know old stuff so I'll throw this in. Not nearly his best work but tell me you don't want to see the inside. Dick Trauma fucked around with this message at 18:58 on Oct 22, 2015 |

There are a lot of Silver Age DC Comics that are just hokey, and throwing out bizarre Hooks to catch the reader's eye. But I think you have to admire covers like this which are able to get so much story across in one image. As hokey as it is, it speaks to an incredible economy of storytelling. Squirrel Girl just fought an Invaders villain, though. And I didn't know that Ms Marvel cover was an homage until like 4 days ago, which is really weird. You'd think that Supergirl cover would be more known, it's really good.
