Seven for beauty that blossoms and dies

I loved it. I spent the past week listening to his entire back catalogue in chronological order, and this feels like a natural direction for him to be taking.
Definitely agree with the comparisons to 1.Outside and Station to Station

Girl Loves Me seems to be the most divisive track on the album. I've seen a few reviews who were left cold by it, but I really enjoyed it.

I spent the last two weeks pretty much exclusively listening to Bowie. I'm glad that I did.

We're all a little bit cooler now, because the coolest man on earth just died.

I was doing okay, and then I listened to Where Are We Now? and now I can't stop crying.

Am I going crazy from overexposure to Bowie or does The Next Day legitimately have some of his best songs? :stare:

Maybe not his most experimental, but some of his tightest, most concise pop-rock songs of his career.

I loved it. I'd put it in my top 10 Bowie albums, if not top 5.

Incidentally, are there any cover versions of Bowie songs that come close to equalling the original? I know of Nirvana's The Man Who Sold The World but nothing else.

There's a couple of live videos of Of Montreal and Janelle Monae[ covering Moonage Daydream that I'm pretty fond of.

Adam Rudegeair did an album of jazzy Bowie covers that I really enjoyed, too.
