Death is something that has to happen at some point, and the fact that he was able to live long enough to have this incredible career and have an enormous impact on the arts, and then to die just after releasing one of his best works in decades, shortly after a period of reflection back on his career, and turning that process of death, consciously, into art as well.. IMO that's about as close to an ideal scenario one can get.
