CIG I'm sure wanted to get rid of Derek Smart's allegations (because they're all true), but trying to silence him and effectively ban him from the game had the complete opposite effect.

Right now the only ships you can even sort of use are very small ships that could hold ~8 people, right? Like, the size of an IRL yacht? Theoretically is this supposed to let you own a capital ship and walk all around it and see every deck? Because that does sound really cool. But that in itself would have to be the entire focus of the whole game. Like those guys who are trying to make a complete digital reconstruction of the Enterprise. Would you be able to interact with/murder your crew of NPCs?

I have no idea what I am doing in Elite, but I flew a spaceship, tried to land on a planet without my landing gear lowered, bounced a bit, went for try two and succeeded, drove a space moon buggy that apparently has a jet/jumppack and finally did a mission for 15000 credits. It cost me less than my SC ship, I had triple the FPS and no crashes. Now I understand why the SC community hates E:D so much

Will the game have stealth mechanics? While i'm sure that purple laser is deadly, he'll be completely powerless if you can sneak up behind him and pull off his CPAP mask. Also, is there any place where they publish an official "features to be implement" list, the way Toady does for Dwarf Fortress?

Didn't even do the planetary landing cause I don't have horizons. Everything about Elite - from jumping to docking to working the menus in your ship - feels a loving thousand times better than SC.
