And you actually believe that? Looked more like something knocked up in 30 seconds in MS Project to keep the naysayers quiet to me.

Incidentally, unless 2.6 goes to the Avocados today then they've already slipped on their internal schedule less than a week after mak^H^H^Hshowing it.

This timeline is hilarious, given my experience with projects. We have a "short" term project thats like 8 months in scale, its has a ton of milestones and we are scared shitless about a wrench scheduling threw at us that would have to shift the project one week to the right. It would cause a bunch of milestones to fail and we are scrounging up what time we have to move things a bit to the left so that things end up working in the end. We had to brief our boss on everything about it, and eventually we'll have to brief HIS boss about all of it. And then HIS boss has brief his own bosses about everything.

So yeah, meanwhile CIG has something they literally threw up at the last moment to appear transparent that has absolutely no credibility at all, whose boss doesn't give a gently caress about if things dont end up like they are supposed to because they are getting paid regardless. The beauty of crowdfounding

I'm thinking that they intend to have some form of planetary mission in SQ42 as a setpiece or whatever and thought that devoting an entire studio to it would make sense since they can use it for the PU too. Of course the PU is so hosed up that they cant even release a loving fps module (on an engine made for FPSs!) into a closed test environment after demonstrating that it sort of works in very small controlled environment.

What hope do they have of actually releasing planetoids without the miracle network rework.

By the holiday stream they'll double down on last years "No more release date" dogma, because all the timeline did was cause grief to the playerbase.

By releasing that transparently undoable timeline its really just CIGs way of saying no 2.6 this year. They even felt the need to describe it as "aggressive". Which for CIG means 'gently caress no'.

Someone honestly argued that they dont need to say that 3.0 is delayed because the timeline clearly means its impossible for it to release this year anyways.

CIG are loving geniuses. They can put timeline and people will naturally infer what it means without them actually saying anything.

MOMA wwhat the gently caress is going on I thought they were targeting for this week, clearly it says they are targeting next week you addled poo poo brained retard.

Anyone with a modicum of work experience knows how poo poo happens during these dates. Anyone could have told you that the project timeline was poo poo. And this one is no better. You are giving yourself a free pass by saying that the start dates are a range but at the same time you are giving a solid release date for the milestone. Thats poo poo. Its not going to happen. Might as well say that the thing isn't coming out for live this year anymore.

Some CIG Marketer posted:

There has been some delay in progress over the last week that has impacted the push to the Evocati, the issues have come up due to what we call our “Inclusions Process”. This is a process by which we select the various files and folders that we want to be in the build, and allow us to keep out any files that relate to work still in progress we’re not ready to release yet. This is a slow and manual process that is not without error as we have experienced this week, and also slowed further with the US offices being out on Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving. However, we’re happy to say that we do seem to be over the worst of this now and are in a good position to catch the last of these problems next week.

I'm guessing them consolidating builds is still a major problem if they get delayed an entire week because of it. But of course, being down over a week wont shift the release of 2.6 to the right at all, it makes perfect sense.

They have like two weeks (lol) from next monday according to their timeline to push out this turd through all its testing pipeline.

They have to finish compiling whatever it is they are going to test. they have to test whatever it is they are trying to compile first, then they need to send it to the avocados, then they have to send it to the ptu and then finally get it to live. In two weeks!

Remember 2.5 , the build they really wanted to get out for gamescom that was supposed to have a quick turnaround but instead spent like a month and a half between the tests? They were suggesting they were going to have 2.6 for gamescom a few months before it. Their project management skills are poo poo. 2.6 isn't going to come out this year unless they rush it out like a pile of turds to meet a date, and with a skeleton crew there on the holidays nothing is going to be done to put out the fires that spring up.

A normal production would already be counting it as delayed. Not CIG though!

Right now they are missing every single gameplay loop the game has to offer other than simple blow up pirates missions. They are missing, mining, refining, crafting, trading, farming, exploring, bussing, pirating ( and its innevitable consequence), salvaging, repairing, mending, a ton of other ings im forgetting

Some even have a completely wrong idea of what 2.6 was suppose to have because in their heads they merged it with 2.7 thinking that 3.0 was its own independent thing.
