These are some prime candidate questions for the next reverse the verse. More importantly, can I play this farming gene-splicing mini-game while hiding in a crate for hours while my prey puts me aboard their ship? Will the corn be fully grown by the time I pop out of my crate in order to take over my opponent's ship? These are the questions that keep me up at night.

I'm going to hide for five hours in a big bag of soil on some guys ship and then jump out and steal all the unsuspecting 'commandos crops when they are busy mixing drinks for each other

Need some more time with it but I think it's over taken the a'bunadh as my current favorite.

Can't go wrong with the hp 12 though

Thank you I will put these on my list to look into as well!

eightace, serious question, is there any sense of general unease or like 'something is wrong here' as a mood with the devs? I have a friend who is a coder,, really loves his work and tends to do 6-months ish contracts. Prides himself on working on a project towards results. Recently he had a job where he could just tell something was weird, no money seemed to be made on this product, there were mysterious investors and the goalposts for the work they were doing were constantly being moved.

The whole feeling of it was like it was just make-work to give the appearance of a business and it was driving him mad because he likes to see tangible progress in his job. Weird things kept happening then it all suddenly liquidated before Christmas. It sounded like a big money laundering scheme, and a common feeling of people working there was that something was not quite right and a lot of them bailed before poo poo hit the fan. The whole thing reminded me of star citizen and I wondered if there is any sort of current of unease like that

Anyone that has ever made an actual game before knows its totally , completely and irredeemably hosed . Beyond hosed , ....fisted even .
But there is a sense of terror and fear beyond words, that if they talk or speak up about concerns they will not only be jettisoned but will never work in the industry again.
Even when they do leave and get another gig they stay silent and haunted ....

True

That's horrible :( my friend at least felt able to talk about it, to feel like it's this crushing millstone around your neck is really not nice. One other thing he said is that some people had this horrid fascination where they wanted to stay just to see how it ended, like they should quit but just find the whole thing so surreal that they wanted to ride it out, but also didn't want to have a black mark on their cv.

The games industry is a very different beast. There are not that many jobs and not that many secure companies so when you land a decent gig you eat all the poo poo they throw at you until someone a bit higher up in the firm puts their CV around.
Normally what happens is this 'rat leaving a sinking shi' will bypass all recruitment horse poo poo and contact some old pals directly at other studios. Then when the ship hits the iceberg everyone that has ever said good morning to the aforementioned rat will be on linked in with the fucker before you can say Ardvark swift. And so the gaming world turns

I honestly feel so bad for devs who got a job there to make a fun spaceship mans game and are now chained up in some nightmare heironymus bosch painting of a work environment

At least I go outside to do it though, nothing is worse than standing somewhere and some dude pulls out his giant lightsaber hilt and takes a Cheech and Chong comedy-sized bongrip off it, filling the entire room with strawberry.

It makes me hate myself a little bit less than smoking did though, so there's that.

You probably already read it, but if you like City of Stairs, read Perdido Street Station (and the rest of that trilogy if you like it). It's astoundingly good, is written in a similar style and has quite a few similarities (the mystery aspect and amazing world building for example). I prefer China's prose, but that's a personal taste thing I'm sure. I found Mistborn to be a little too teeny, but good nonetheless. City of blades a good followup to stairs?

all of that trilogy is great, The Scar is one of my favourite books

Concentrate all efforts on episode 1 SQ42 . Now internally accepted as is , will be available q2 or 3 2017. This will involve 6-7 hours terrible cutscene and some minor scripted missions. Fly from a to b kill something , etc.
The Stimporer will now be based in the UK 2/3 rds of the year and liase more closely with Germany who are trying to rewrite everything patch by patch.

Pretty much on target if you ask me. Oh, and they don't have 7 million dollars left or whatever del boy claimed. They have a Lot more ...
