Well, I went to our archives and randomly dug up some invoices (1, 2, 3)from the named legal firms in that last action. In fact, my calculations were off. When I
looked at our Quickbooks ledger, the amount for just that action across 4 law firms, a PI firm, a forensics imaging firm etc was $609, 738.86

When I was younger and discovering the fun of Usenet, there was an idea for a game where you would be the captain of a capital space ship. It would be a deep simulator, complex, with numerous interacting systems. You could travel widely in the galaxy, join in with different factions, battle, fly together with friends, all in a procedural generated universe. I loved all of it, but X-Wing was limited. You only got one hyperspace jump, one mission location, and when you finished, you warped out. Eventually it would see release in 1996, but the release was unstable on my system. I had trouble getting it working, from reasons (I've heard) related to the forced release by Take Two. I never tried the other releases, and instead focused more on Tie Fighter (1994), I-War (1997), FreeSpace (1998), which, while limited, had enough features to be enjoyable to play, even if they were far more limited in scope.

But I'll never forget how great the promise was and how excited I was in the late 1980s to hear of this great sim that was coming out.

I posted that a few pages back. If they failed to get 2.0 out by the middle of december. If I cannot play a Connie by then and have my friend join me, that's when I'll be done with SC. If they hit that delivery, then I'll be happy with the progress. I have a different perspective from the zeitgeist here, which is why my perspective is confusing.
