I thought an updated Wing Commander/Privateer would be cool. Didn't expect it to turn into all this. I guess there is some benefit to having an "evil" publisher that actually wants to ship.

How strong are kickstarter's rules against embezzlement? Not that a door in an office would be embezzlement. But I imagine you could skirt the rules by having corporate housing, cars, business travel...
