All of my FC saves seem to be in the main Trails game folder and not wherever the configuration tool points to, will I have to change anything in order for SC to recognize where my save file is?

ys seven is pretty good and i'd say it's worth 20 bucks, especially since the port is pretty solid outside of a few weird little issues that don't affect playing it too much.

ys 8 is probably better if you want something that looks like it made the jump from the ps2 rather than the n64, though. seven is pretty butt-ugly, probably even moreso than origin

Is the gameplay between 7 and 8 similar? What are those weird little issues? Do 7/8 play like Origin did or is it something different now?

Also, what is this about Ys 8 having a boring translation? I don't really follow who is translating what. I know that Xseed had to do a lot of work to get Trails FC translated cause of how many words that game had but that's about it.

Got Ys 7 as a gift. It's really fun and a nice change from the Ys Origin formula. I assume Ys 8 plays similar to 7? Too bad it's not out on PC yet.

Is Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection another good Falcom game? Just saw it in the coming soon tab on Steam.

This was really nice.

Despite finishing Trails FC close to launch, I just got back in SC (which has led me to forget some characters and stuff, whoops). The combat seems more difficult in SC. What are some recommended builds for Estelle, Kloe, Olivier, and Scherazard? I just beat chapter 2 and have Tita and Zin as well. I'm not good at RPGs at all.

That's pretty much it but Montblanc doesn't have much health so you should be able to finish the fight after only a few hits. Hit Montblanc, wait for the cat to do the exploding shockwave bodies attack for a bit then it goes back to them circling around you again. Watch out for the dumb star laser attack and don't attack too soon.

if i have one complaint about anything in zwei 2 it's that the ranking system really just, doesn't work, because it ultimately just means you're going to have a really annoying first run through every dungeon and boss soaking up dozens of hits and then you'll revisit it at the end of the game and cruise through one-shotting everything

nayuta made a very, very, very good decision replacing ranks with every level just having a unique objective that you can typically clear on the first go around

The ranking system is really bad for trying to get platinum. That no hit requirement is really stupid, especially for some of the later bosses.

I don't know. It's called "Getting steamy in here" and has a picture of Ragna in the hot springs. I had thought it was related to getting 50k steps on the pedometer, speaking to the woman at the hot springs twice, then getting past 60k to open up the hot springs again and watch a short cutscene but the achievement didn't pop up for me even after I did all this.

Did you manage to fill out all the person notes? I somehow haven't despite talking to everyone and even finishing the Kappa's dumb snowboarding missions.

edit: nevermind, found the details for the last hidden achievement:

Take hot spring baths with Subaru, Odessa, and Alwen.

it has a neat visual style but it starts from like chapter 2 of sc and resets estelle's entire development, it cuts zin out of the first encounter with walter and has joshua parachute in to fight him instead, stealing all of the focus from everyone else, and since it tries to condense so much of sc into like an hour it's just a complete mess and the visuals don't make up for it. it really would've been much better if they just picked a scene from the game to adapt and rolled with it but i guess they decided they needed to cram in everything they possibly could

Those are some baffling decisions.

Since people are talking about games spoiling other games, am I making a bad decision by playing Cold Steel at the same time as Sky SC? Last I played SC, chapter 3 was about to start and I'm currently in chapter 2 of CS.

Estelle's hair gets more out of control in every new picture I see.

All the NG+ stuff in Zwei II has waaaay too much health. I almost managed to beat the Survival Challenge, especially since I figured out by accident that a jump-strike will cancel most of Gallandeau's moves, but apparently the Service Penguin can just automatically grab you if you try to shoot her while she's resting at low health? What the gently caress.

I'm guessing you get the new pet & anchor gear from that and the new model collection, but what about those other three new items? I cleared twenty floors of the earth II labyrinth but it gave me jack squat.

New Pet is from survival, new Anchor Gear is from collecting all the new "extra" models from the vending machine. Keep in mind the new model capsules, you can get repeats so it involves a lot of money and just repeatedly buying capsules until you're lucky enough to get ones you haven't gotten yet.

Other three items are armor pieces that come together to form a new armor and look for Alwen. Each new Labyrinth (Labyrinth II) has to be cleared and each one has 40 floors. Each clear will give you an armor piece.

There's also a new armor for Ragna but you have to beat ALL of the bosses using the G-Plate in the casino.

I used Cheat Engine for the G-Plated bosses because they are obnoxious otherwise.

It's decent but not especially good. Combat feels a little stiff and the dungeons are super bland cookie cutter corridors (which normally wouldn't bother me much but compared to something like nayuta it's pretty noticeable). It's still decently fun, and you have a bunch of characters with different move sets mixing things up, but it really still feels like it was built out of cold steels clunky rear end field attack system.

The story is ok? The general premise is kinda dull and it never really fleshes out any of the other world stuff in a way that gives it any specificity to be interesting. The characters are decent but the story is basically structured so each chapter introduces a new party member then the last two chapters are the actual main conflict, and everyone just sorta vanishes after their intro chapter. The true ending is garbage

Thanks for this, guess I'll just save my money.
