Basketball is back. We've been ready to see Trey Burke start in an all star game, watch Blake Griffin drink similac and infamil from a shake cup, stand mesmerized as Jakarr Sampson accidentally drops his keys while in a defensive stance, and so much more.

Why on earth is that MN/LAL game on national TV this early in the season?

Oh, the 1 and 2 picks playing against each other? That's dumb. I guess you weed out the casual fans early.

Hahaha, good streams for all is such a kind and charitable wish, you're a good man. For what it's worth, I think the pacers will score a lot and probably be as good as the bucks and pistons

Their defense might be quite a bit worse without Amir Johnson. Playing Patches Peterson and JV together could mean efficient offense and bad defense

The NBA is trying to create a rivalry between the Timberwolves and Lakers because Towns and Russell. This is a nightmare.

Yeah it's actually pretty safe money, although I imagine if you had money on it, it would be pretty stressful because they're likely to get 50-60% of their wins in the first 1/4 of the season and it might seem like you got a loser on your hands.

Q: Who is Knightscope?
A: Knightscope is made up of dedicated, community-minded entrepreneurs passionate about predicting and preventing crime. This talented and resourceful team developed an autonomous technology platform that fuses robotics, predictive analytics and collaborative social engagement to seek out unlawful activities within a geo-fenced area.

Q: What is the Knightscope K5?
A: The Knightscope K5 is an autonomous robot that provides a commanding but friendly physical security presence. The K5 gathers important real-time, on-site data through its numerous sensors, which is then processed through apredictive analytics engine. There it is combined with existing business, government and crowdsourced social data sets to determine if there is a concern or threat in the area. If so, an issue is created with an appropriate alert level and a notification is sent tothe community and authorities through the Knightscope Security Operations Center (KSOC), a browser based user interface.

Q: Are the machines safe to operate in large, crowded environments?
A: The Knightscope K5 is fully autonomous and can navigate through an environment with moving objects. The technology is similar to that being utilized by the autonomous cars that actively drive the streets of Silicon Valley today.

Q: How will you prevent people from defacing or damaging the K5?
A: We have identified several options such as proximity sensors, several alarm stages and vandal-proof coatings to protect the K5, but we can’t give away all of our secrets.

Q. Are there any thermal or environmental sensors available?
A: The automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) sensor already incorporates an infrared sensor. For the environmental conditions, we employ a sensor that detects temperature, humidity, CO2, and barometric pressure.

^^I am not at all surprised that the NBA is the first US sport with autonomous spy robots wandering their grounds.

I'd take the under for the Timberwolves at 28.5, but I'm not confident enough to cover the take.

Also, all these predictions, I'm pretty sure Boston is going to make the playoffs as the 5-8 seed. They won 40 games last year and will probably be better. Depending on how hurt/tire-firey Miami is they might even get a home series.

I am optimistic for the Raptors to finish top 4. I foresee a big defensive improvement with Casey bringing in one of Chicago's ICE experts, especially with Jonas' defensive contribution. The dude is too big and slow to be chasing guards around the perimeter. Offense... will still be up to Lowry in a way, at least with Lou gone, and CoJo in, the second unit will have some movement, and they look to be rather defensively well off with Turd Vasquez gone and Bigsmack Byumbo in.

No matter what I expect a lot of PISS shots from Demar
