Technos (makers of River City Ransom) made a ton of sports games, only two of which got released in the US(Crash 'n the Boys: Street Challenge and Nintendo World Cup), always stripped of any association with the other "kunio-kun" games.

I made my original statement having played a chunk of those as well as others on all 3 systems you mentioned. Guess it's just a difference of opinion. I've always preferred 3D though, I naturally understand it better.

This is why I thought dark souls is easy but can't beat a boss in megaman 4. Which was hilarious in school because my best friend is the opposite.

If you're just starting out doing poo poo for yourself you usually pick something with simple mechanics.

Like I did a panzer dragoon clone for example.

Plague of Shadows was probably one of the best "games" I have played all year, even if it's an expansion. the new sprites they created for Plague Knight and Mona dancing are just absolutely awe inducing. Whether it's free or delivering on kickstarter promises or what, I could feel the love and commitment they had to their game, and that's the only thing that I give a poo poo about. It's great and I'm looking forward to the other knights they intend to make playable.

I got one piece pirate warriors 3 and it's pretty good. It's my first musou game and I kind of like it despite of its shallowness. The game also does a good job of telling the original manga story through the game, but I think it could get kind of hard to understand most things if you don't know the original story. Otherwise the genre fits perfectly the One Piece setting, and I'm really glad there is finally a great one piece game to enjoy.

Well, some high profile gaming journalists have time and again stated that if you enjoy indie games you can't enjoy AAA games like this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0Ry_nbyCGk

because these are filthy AAA games for filthy nerds and if you start one AAA game it ruins your taste in gaming forever, so I want to just be safe and continue to enjoy AAA games hoping that indie devs start working for big publishers and make it big so that one day I can enjoy their games too.

Basically indie gaming is like veganism, so sorry Lurdiak.

If I were a billionaire, I would hire a dev team to produce modern versions of these games. I wouldn't innovate (other than to add basic features and poo poo that didn't exist or wasn't standard for games at the time). I'd do it AOE2:HD style.

I'd make even more billions!

Then I'd turn all of my old favorite SC:BW UMS maps into their own standalone multiplayer games.

I don't know why you have mutated gamer skills but it's all good, friend! I beat all the mainline pre-9 Mega Man games but couldn't even get past the cliffside you warp to in early Dark Souls.

Nintendo World Cup was on a cartridge with Super Spike V'ball which I assume was also them. Those two games were loving awesome for 4 player on the NES.

It really is bizarre. Especially since my dad and I used to play Mario all the time. I barely beat a couple igavania games and Kirby all-star.

3D action games though? Gimme Devil May Cry or a Souls game any day. I remember loving starting new characters in Demons Souls because if you beat the tutorial boss, you get punched to death by a giant dragon.

Speaking of, anyone else super pumped about the Dragons Dogma port?

Compared to what? At the time the alternative was VHS which was a putrid format that did not hold quality (SVHS behaved way better, but there were no commercial SVHS tapes in parts of the world), and until DVD there was no real alternative to Laserdisc (lol to the cd-i videocd).

My excitement for the Dragon's Dogma port is dependent on if it will have mods or not. I love the game, but I don't really feel like playing through the same thing all over again even if it's no longer a chugfest whenever tornadoes or lightning are on the screen.

I think the engine is somewhat moddable, it'll probably depend on the community. DD has always had a pretty dedicated fanbase though, so I'd be surprised if it didn't get a Nexus page at least

Also if you can't get something to play The Song soon after release alot of people are going to be upset
