The Rules

Pick a number, any number between 1 and 100 (yes, including 1 and 100).
One of these numbers is our lucky winner. Choose correctly and win a free avatar!
However, the two numbers immediately surrounding our winner are both losers. Choose either of them and get probated for a day!
Likewise, with the exception of the winner, the three numbers closest in proximity to the losers are bad by association. Choose any of them and get probated for six hours.
Finally, tucked away among the rest lies one really, really bad apple. Avoid picking this one or you'll get probated for three days.
You can pick a second number after an hour has passed. Pick a second number before an hour has passed and get probated for six hours regardless of how close to picking the winner you were - even if you picked the winner!

If any of that was confusing, consider this: imagine 50 is the winner. Picking 50 will net you a free avatar. Picking 49 or 51 will get you probated for a day. Picking 46, 47, 48, or 52, 53, 54 will get you probated for six hours. Picking 45 or 55 gets you nothing, but at least you didn't get probated.

Amending the rules a bit to inject a bit more life into this thread: you can pick a new number once three hours have passed (so, in about 15 minutes). Consequently, that's also when I'll start handing out probations for people who flew too close to the sun.

Don't forget that sixers show up immediately whereas dailies take awhile.

this analogy doesn't make since because the point of the game is to fly directly into the sun then!!!
