This was a fun ep but Jesse Thorn seemed maybe a little too comfortable with jumping in on insulting both Mitch and Wiger and kinda came across like a bit of a bully. I'm only familiar with listening to him on Judge John Hodgeman so it was a little surprising.

So from context is sounds like the meeting they were talking about is a resurrection of the Doughboys food travel show that was in development at Netflix. I think the only reason it got canned was that it was the project of an ousted producer, so I guess they got another shot.

Netflix makes sense as to why Jack Black was there too, he�s had a few projects there.

My guess is they went with Headgum because they let them keep their Patreon. It seemed like Jesse Thorn was campaigning to get them on Maximum Fun but their financial model likely was incompatible

I did, I think having a non fan like Lapkus reacting to wrestling stuff out of context is always entertaining and would make a great show concept ( although likely better as a YouTube show). So much of wrestling requires acceptance of its own internal logic by fans that I think it's taken for granted and it's a fun reminder how insane a lot of it is.

So this episode revealed again that Wiger seems to be the main thing holding them back from greater exposure. Is it self-sabotage or does he just have no idea how to navigate the industry? Shouldn�t they have representation to handle things like this?

This weeks HDTGP is a really excellent discussion where Joey Clift calls out Wiger and Campbell that it�s pretty hosed up to book a native guest to discuss Custer�s Revenge on their Thanksgiving week episode .

That part starts about 22 mins in if you don�t want to listen to the whole thing. Fair credit should go to Wiger and Campbell for releasing it unedited when it doesn�t portray them in the best light.
