Hey Android app goons, got a, *ahem* question about private / encrypted gallery apps.

Anyone know if there are any that support one of or both of nested galleries / albums and photo tagging?

Thanks!

In order to better answer your question we'll need a list of tags you intend to use.

Sticky Summer, Hang-low Heat, Winter Prunes, Lazy-Eyed etc.

But in all seriousness, it seems that even finding a standard gallery app with nested albums / folder support AND photo tagging isn't exactly easy.

The only one I've come across is F-Stop Gallery which seems like a really robust gallery and way better than the phone manufacturer ones.

The only solution I've found to having encrypted media with tagging / nested albums/folders support is actually Samsung's "Secure Folder" Knox App, which creates a sandbox environment completely isolated from your standard phone environment.

You can actually install apps to this sandbox as well as copy files to it.

So F-Stop + Samsung Secure Folder gets me what I want... but I don't have a Samsung phone.

Not having much luck finding a similar alternative for non-Samsung phones. I need to find out if creating separate Android accounts means that media from one account is not viewable on another.

Basically just want to be able to share my phone with family members without worrying about them accidentally stumbling across photos / videos I don't want them to see. Big extended family, poor, so young cousins, nephews, and nieces at gatherings like to play with old's phones, not enough to go around, don't have their own, etc. As for nested gallery / tagging... I'm anal about organizing my media and hate the idea of only being able to alphabetize albums.

So a second user account shares media with the first rather than having it's own dedicated space which is not what I expected so that's out.

Encrypted folders is an option but I've found an even simpler one! I forgot my phone has expandable storage, so I just moved all my media to an SD card, removed the SD card, and walla, problem solved, and tags carry back over since they're saved to metadata (IIRC).

Now I just copy back a bunch of safe photos back to the phone so we can browse em together and chat about them (it's great bonding!).

Pop the SD card back in, and I've got all my nude watermelon smashing back.

It's not just papaya porn and my extensive library of scrotal selfies tagged and catalogued by amount of wrinkles and season, though. There's 10 years of photos and videos that I've moved from phone to phone on this thing, I don't even know what the gently caress is on there from my young-man days when I still had friends. Fairly certain I've got snaps of mates getting tattoos, flipping the bird, mooning, a bong on a table in the background, etc.

Also I'm certain I've got photos of when I wiped out mountain biking and gouged off a portion of my upper lip (RIP ever having a mustache *sob*). Don't want 6-year-old cousin Mary to stumble across that while we're looking through photos of my last trip to the zoo or w/e.

My 70 year old aunt messaged me on whatsapp out of the blue and proudly told me her other geriatric friends had told her about it and she set it up all by her lonesome on a piece of poo poo Android phone that came bundled with her mobile plan.

Can't imagine it happening with Telegram which I've never even loving heard of, but maybe it's a US thing.

Then again, she also has a Facebook so I should probably sever.

Does anybody know of an app that will tell me how many times I've unlocked my phone and at which times, like a log? Is this a built in feature somewhere in Android?

Or better yet, if any app can use the whateverscope and tell me how many times I even pick up my phone (to look at the aod).

My sleep quality is worsening and I find myself waking up 2 to 3 times every night and checking my phone, but I never remember what times it was and want to find out.

Samsung health doesnt seem to have than. It just allows me to self report my sleep.

The issue isn't that I'm waking up to check my phone, it's that I'm waking up at all, tossing and turning for 30 min, and then looking at my phone because I've become frustrated.

Most of the time a boring thread on SA puts me back to sleep, but it's starting to get where I'll go to bed at 10, wake up at 1 to 2ish for no apparent reason, fall asleep by 3ish and then wake up again at 4 to 5ish. I'm spending 8 hours in bed but only sleeping for 5 of them and it's starting to affect my day to day and especially gym days.

I want to figure out the exact times and if there's a pattern (I track my diet and exercise as well so I could at least start comparing the two). Like I know after a tough workout I'm gonna have a poo poo nights sleep, which seems opposite to most people.

Check out Moment. I used it for a bit and it was depressing.

Thank you, this looks like it could be it! And it seems I can enable tracking only through certain hours (like 10 to 6am aka my consistent bed times) as well which perfectly fits what I'm looking for.

Edit: lol seems that it can't figure out how to track 10pm to 6am because 6am is "before" 10pm. It doesn't bridge over to the next day.

Oh well I'll just track my full day and, I guess, prepare to be surprised.
