Yes, his cadence is kind of odd, but it's definitely just part of the videos at this point. Interviews with him and earlier videos have him talking normally. I don't mind his sense of humor and don't feel like it detracts from the show at all.

I hated Chef John when I first saw one of his videos but he's growing on me. The broccoli looks pretty good but I have that exact same colander and it's loving useless.
