my grandparents got me a used snes for christmas and brought me to a video rental place to pick out a game to buy for it. they were all arranged alphabetically and the second i saw american gladiators i picked it and didnt look at the rest of the games because i loved american gladiators its one of my life's biggest regrets

my first console was a genesis and i would stay at a friend's house and use their snes when my parents were away. i beat smw and they never did. almost did the same with ff6.

I never owned any of the big Square RPGs for the SNES. I rented FFVI and kept it late until I beat it, and I borrowed Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG from a friend EDIT: I did the same thing with Earthbound that I did with FFVI

I won a NES in some mail-in contest, with one controller and zero games, so I just rented games at first, I remember my first one was Bart vs the Space Mutants. My uncle got me Super Mario 3, Megaman 3, and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers about a month later. ftw
