Plasma is the closest to a CRT that you can get. Certain models have multiscan and bnc inputs for RGB.

my grandparents got me a used snes for christmas and brought me to a video rental place to pick out a game to buy for it. they were all arranged alphabetically and the second i saw american gladiators i picked it and didnt look at the rest of the games because i loved american gladiators

my first console was a genesis and i would stay at a friend's house and use their snes when my parents were away. i beat smw and they never did. almost did the same with ff6.

I never owned any of the big Square RPGs for the SNES. I rented FFVI and kept it late until I beat it, and I borrowed Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG from a friend

EDIT: I did the same thing with Earthbound that I did with FFVI

Pretty much the same, though I was lucky enough to snag Chrono Trigger from the local Game Crazy near the end of the N64 era, that golden age when they were old enough to be cheap but well before nostalgia drove prices way up.

I won a NES in some mail-in contest, with one controller and zero games, so I just rented games at first, I remember my first one was Bart vs the Space Mutants. My uncle got me Super Mario 3, Megaman 3, and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers about a month later. ftw
