It's so dumb when people complain about how unfair it is that their car naturally loses lots of resale value as time passes. As if that is a strange phenomenon they could not possibly have known about, and not what happens to 100% of cars 100% of the time barring some collector's poo poo with Princess Di's embalmed head embedded into the dash or something.

i have some first printing illustrated pre-special edition first printing gunslinger books, which if feel like were maybe worth something? well, were, before my ex wife stored them in a dank basement for a year.

yeah if it really is the first edition of the gunslinger it might be worth money to collectors. one of the few first edition Kings that are like Carrie and Salem's Lot after that he became hella popular and all the First Editions had huge printings so they aren't rare

My parents where early adopters and bought a plasma TV back in 2003. The picture's been slowly getting shittier and shittier after a decade+, so now all the colours are faded pastels and the black level is middish-grey. Of course they refuse to chuck it out because they paid something like $17,000 for it edit; lol I just remembered they stopped making plasma TV's last year. I bought a 48" 1081i widescreen projection TV in tyool 2004, for like 1200 bucks. The red projector went out of alignment and I ended up giving it way a few years ago to save having to haul it to the dump, fortunately I got some takers on craigslist. If only I'd waited a couple years.

A few pages of "be careful or you will literally x-ray yourself to death" made me abandon the idea, however. drat. At the very least you probably just needed to solder in new capacitors. It's pretty safe working on CRTs, you just gotta discharge them properly which can be pretty scary at first but it's not a big deal at all. You might go pee pee a little when you hear that pop sound for the first time though.

You basically have to pay or trick people to remove CRT's here. Some lady suckered my old roomates into picking up a 30 inch unit that looked like it was a flatscreen. She made them promise before they arrived that they would take the tv no matter what. Of course it weighed about 150 lbs and she had lost the cables. For all I know it's still sitting in the old apartment, unplugged. I don't think it even took RCA cables.

Sometimes I miss those old days of having to trick your TV into thinking that it was receiving your stuff on Channel 3 Also messing with the color settings was fun.

They were awesome for when your parents were watching the main TV. Then I realised there's no more analogue signal, so they'd just be useless plastic boxes. Unless you could convert old B&W TVs to digital I'm not sure even hipsters would want them.

Formal written English demands an apostrophe after abbreviations, like "TV's." There isn't any argument, that is just how it is done in formal written American English (the only English that matters).
