I assume this is a spoiler zone? Anyone else think it's LOL that people are pissed Kylo wasn't a bad rear end. His character was my favorite part of the movie and something they did really good. He's literally an egotistic cosplaying child that's merely a puppet for that one dude

Agreed Angst and immaturity is way more fun to watch via lightstaber tantrum than dialogue that includes the words "my powers" Not saying Lucas didn't accurately paint how painful watching teenagers really is, but, JJ found a way to do it and keep it fun. Good for him.

So is Finn supposed to become a Jedi or? I mean I'm not going to accept that he's just a regular clone that one day started to have feelings and a quirky attitude I couldn't tell if the storm trooper part where they turn around when he's having a fit is too childish or not. I laughed

I recall he mentioned that he was taken from his family, so I think it's safe to assume that we're back to old-school stormtroopers who aren't all clones anymore. Plus, the chrome-plated stormtrooper was a chick, and I think there was at least one other white-helmeted foe with a feminine voice.

I can see him having the force, but its not that crazy that he just didnt want to kill innocent people either, he states that he worked in sanitation and that Jakku was his first time in combat.

Isn't the force supposed to "seek out" people sometimes, per-se. I assumed that's what was happening with Rey maybe but now she's clearly Luke's kid or something and was left on Jakku intentionally. Also kind of wish they paid some kind of homage to the Jakku battle so we had a bit of a bette understanding. Just kind of welp Luke exiled himself and everything is just of bleh. But it has been 30 years I was expecting them to show Captain Phasma's face after they captured her. They showed that character a lot in the movie and trailer for how little she was involved. One of my favorite parts was when the two storm troopers see Kylo Ren having a CSM level tantrum and slowly back away, I like to think they were the storm trooper equivalent to E-4s

I think Snoke is a stupid name. Every time they said it I just thought of Snooki. So what do we think the deal with him is? I'm curious if this also implies the Sith are finally gone, since the Knights of Ren seem to be just a new dark side force faction. Watching Han get killed was gutwrenching though seeing as he's my first and oldest hero. Anyone else read/notice that the Stormtrooper that Rey had free her was Daniel Craig?

For what it's worth, the entire art style is based on Ralph McQuarrie's work for Lucas in developing the look for the movies. Very 60s pulp sci fi. My girlfriend and I were watching it with my nephews last month and she pointed out that the characters all look like Cartoons except the droids and storm troopers being done nearly film realistic, which throws off the way poo poo looks really hard at times. Also the TIE Fighters look stubby as gently caress

Kylo Ren is supposed to be a poor imitation of Vader. I'm thinking they're going to redeem him later on without killing him. It's hilarious what a petulant little child he is. Vader got mad a choked a few people but he actually had reasons when he did it, Ren just happens to be having a bad day so he starts carving up the furniture.

I found out that the theater on the island I'm staying in with my parents didn't start selling tickets for Star Wars until last night, so my girlfriend and I went and grabbed tickets and enjoyed the hell out of the movie. I know fan service is Abrams' middle name, but goddamn he did a great job. Porkins 2.0, tasteful killing off of Han... I thought it was all pretty great.

I'll be pretty bummed if they make her Luke's daughter because it'd be the third time they've done that to us in the series and it's pretty worn out. If they'd not done the Han/Kylo plotline and had Luke/Rey in VIII that might have been alright, but now it's just too much. They made a big deal out of Rey's family leaving her and the lightsaber though. Maybe she's Biggs daughter, who loving knows.

Lastly not gonna lie the more recent trailers made the movie look a helluva lot better than it was imo. Even the voices seemed better. The "I will finish *schizophrenic voice change* what you started" But that seemed so intense in the trailer then in the movie he's sitting there like all emo "in sorry I failed you I'll finish this" etc

Rey is totally Han & Leia's other kid, probably a twin of Kylo. Not sure how or why they were separated, but the whole brother/sister & light/dark side face-off in the upcoming movies is a pretty good idea. Kyle's gonna have a sweet scar on his face next movie though.

Finally they got the new Jar Jar they wanted Also I guess Luke exiled himself to Ireland and was waiting on that cliff a while. I do want to see that backstory though. Also Kylo's lightsaber makes perfect sense now as a whiny kid that just wants to be different without being practical (In case you didn't know the actor was an infantry Marine that joined post-911 but got hurt in training and medically discharged. Now he's in mother loving Star Wars and donates a lot to vet organizations and doesn't go around going on about BACK WHEN I WAS IN THE MARINES etc) Cool dude imo
