Senior year of high school, I took a level 1 drama class for a slack-off course + easy credit. We had to perform a 3-man group poetry reading for our final: one reader, one operating a soundboard, and one operating the lights. I talked my group into using this track from Escaflowne for the sound portion.

Actually it just occurred to me my previous post probably read like a humble brag. Sorry about that. The professor okay'd their anime presentation as an expression of Japanese culture and stuff but it mostly played out like Anime 101. Every other group did stuff like inter-Asian relations, birthrates, fallout from the tsunami, etc.

I still cringe at the fact that I used classical music in a presentation for school and the teacher said "I love classical music" and I said "yes I remembered that's why I used it" and this was like 2002

For my economics final in high school, everyone were doing these big arrangements, like reports or recording videos or stuff. Took them weeks, and their grades were in the 80s. On the day we were sent to do research for the project, I copied the lyrics for "Make a Man Out of You" replaced words with money terms, and performed it live in front of the class, (got my friend who wasn't in the class to help as backup) and got 100 for 10 minutes of effort.

About 8 minutes of the effort was printing the lyrics for my friend, who got to watch me make an idiot of my self as his reward for sitting down and reading some lyrics.

i think the only class i took with presentations was an ethics in computer science class, so nothing really interesting. now i wish i had seen the anime presentations.

I got over being terrified of speaking in front of others when I taught a freshman class for a couple of semesters in grad school. I'm not sure anyone could give less of a poo poo than they did. I'm still not very good at public speaking, have to do it some for work and I get tongue-tied and flustered but it's easier to just go with it now and not worry about looking like an rear end, because for the most part just standing up there and doing it makes you really impressive in other people's eyes because they don't want to do it.

my presentations were beloved by fellow students and hated by the professors because i cared more about them being funny then things like 'facts' 'not calling important historical figures idiots' and so on

KeinexMokou and YuugixParsee are my favorite touhous. Everyone should read Vivit Gray's MokoKeine doujins, even if you aren't interested in touhous. Some of them are really loving sad though.
