Shaking my head at the discussion about a hypothetical Labyrinth sequel. Do you guys, like, have no imagination? The next movie would obviously be a prequel, and depict the rise of of a young Jareth to the throne.

About The Neverending Story, everybody who has even a passing interest to read the book should do so, because the book rules. The first movie is great but I feel it doesn't quite do the book justice, and the second movie is just utter garbage. It is kinda telling that they managed to make a dope movie from the part of the book that's about losing and reclaiming your imagination while totally loving up the movie that should be about the danger of becoming a huge manchild.

Good news, I looked up the actor recently and he's slated to return in all sequels as the same character! That could mean either flashbacks, video footage or clones. Personally, I hope it's clones. An army of angry Colonel Quaritchs.

Since "people don't talk about it anymore" proved to be a terrible bench mark for cultural impact, as it seems impossible to go into any kind of detail what "talk" means, who those people are and what timeframe "anymore" refers to, I would like to provide a better bench mark: porn parodies. If a movie has a porn parody, it has impacted culture. Avatar has one, I heard, therefore Avatar possesses this nebulous quality referred to in this thread as cultural impact.

I think one of the criteria is that the porn parody needs to have better costuming and/or dialog so I'm not sure.

You know, I can see the Thor gig working out. I'm sure he'll get a lot of support from Marvel and if he's willing to ride the wave he could learn a lot about shooting a big budget special-effects blockbuster. Then he can take all that experience (and hopefully clout) and get his own big sci-fi movie made. Not a bad idea.

Or Thor 3 magically morphs into Fantastic Four 2.
