But never seeing anything else about it. It looked like a good movie, and the exact sort of movie that the Academy would love.

I'm amazed Cranston even got nominated for the role, because I don't think the Academy is keen on bringing up the blacklist that much.

At least, not the people who were harmed by it.

In 2014 20 Feet From Stardom was deemed a more worthy documentary than The Act of Killing, but this year there are two documentaries about showbiz up against follow-up/companion piece The Look of Silence. This must present a real conundrum for the voters!

Three of the last four Best PIcture winners were showbiz related (Birdman, Argo, The Artist.) I'm genuinely surprised there weren't more attempts to cash in on that than Trumbo this year.
