The McElroy brothers are not experts, but they do make a lot of loving podcasts. The trio of West Virginia-grown brothers began their funny-words-into-a-microphone careers in 2010 when they launched My Brother, My Brother and Me. Their goal was essentially to keep in touch after Travis and Griffin had moved away, and podcasting gave them a reason to talk every week. Weíre all drat glad they did, because the three of them and their growing extended family are some of the funniest motherfuckers youíll ever dang listen to.

-----------------------

TwitterWebsite

Justin is the oldest brother. He resides in the brothersí hometown of Huntington, West Virigina and is the Editor-at-Large for gaming site Polygon. He is a new dad and was basically made for the role, as an avid lover of Jimmy Buffet and corduroy jackets.

TwitterWebsite

Travis is the middlest brother. He recently moved back to Cincinnati from Los Angeles, where he started pursuing a full-time podcasting career (or as he labels it, ďunemploymentĒ). He has nightmarish dietary habits.

Twitter

Griffin is the sweet baby brother. He lives in Austin, Texas, and is a Senior Video Producer for Polygon. I'm blanking on anything else to add. He's a funny dude.

Twitter

Clint is the father of the brothers. He has been a morning radio DJ for decades and is also a comic book critic. He is every bit as hilarious as his sons with the added advantage of being able to wig them out even more by talking about sex stuff.

Updates Mondays

MBMBaM is an advice show for the modren era, hosted on the Maximum Fun Newtork. The brothers take questions from listeners, read aloud by Justin, and either genuinely try to help the asker or just make an onslaught of goofs, usually tangential to the original question. As you might expect, the latter happens far more often. They also answer Yahoo! Answers questions, sent in by listeners and read aloud by Griffin, which are much the same as regular questions but more insane because itís Yahoo! Answers. Horses come up far more often than they should. Occasionally they will bring aboard a guest expert, most notably Lin-Manuel Miranda, for an episode to answer question relating to their field of expertise. At nearly 300 episodes, MBMBaM is the lynchpin of the McElroy empire. There are also several bonus episodes you can access as a MaxFun donor, including a few episodes recorded with Clint and ďMy Sister-in-Law, My Sister-in-Law, and Me,Ē an episode recorded by the brothersí wives.

Updates Every Other Thursday

The Adventure Zone began in November 2014 as a continuation of a one-off MBMBaM episode where the brothers and Clint played Dungeons & Dragons. Itís now a full show on MaxFun that runs every other week. Griffin DMs a 5th-edition game with Justin (Taako the Wizard), Travis (Magnus the Fighter), and Clint (Merle the Cleric). Itís just as hilarious as MBMBaM and avoids too much piddling around with D&D rules, focusing on making an entertaining show and not a pedantic drag. Griffin plays fast and loose with the rules and has put together a really compelling and fun story with some excellent NPCs. He also names them after people on Twitter, which rules (I scored one myself). Recently heís begun adding background music and neat vocals effects to punch up the production value, too. Itís really good and you should listen, even if youíre not a fan of RPGs.

Updates Every American Thanksgiving Until the End of Linear Time

The brothers team up with the guys from The Worst Idea of All Time and watch/review Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 every year until the end of time. When one of the five dies, they are replaced by a person of their choosing. This continues forever. Weíre only one episode in, so strap in for the rest of your life.

Updates Wednesdays

A marital tour of misguided medicine, hosted on MaxFun. Justinís wife Sydnee, who is a real actual doctor, teaches Justin about weird outdated remedies for sicknesses and other medical topics, while Justin makes goofs and struggles to follow. Recent episodes have been punctuated by their infant/toddler daughter, Charlie, and Sydneeís teen sister Rileigh has made a few guest appearances. Itís genuinely educational! Justin and Sydnee also hosted the now-defunct podcasts The Satellite Dish and Losing the Sheen.

Travisí move to LA has resulted in him doing a lot more podcasting. He hosts Trends Like These with his college roommate and video game rapper Brent (brentalfloss), which covers trending topics of the week. Bunker Buddies is a show about apocalyptic survival scenarios that he hosts with Andie, who grew up in a doomsday prepper household. He most recently started Shmanners, which is co-hosted by his wife Teresa, and as of this writing was literally just announced today so I donít know what the deal is. He also produces some other MaxFun shows (Baby Geniuses, CIPYD) though he occasionally chimes in. This guy needs a real job!

Rose Buddies is a The Bachelor/The Bachelorette/Trashy Romance Reality Show podcast co-hosted by his wife Rachel. Griffinís amiibo Corner is your one-stop destination for reviews of these delightful new creations from Nintendo that blend both toy and game alike. Stonerz Nation is a Polygon Hearthstone video series. Big Gulp is hosted on the deep web. Good luck finding it.

Griffin and Polygon's Nick Robinson do a bunch of stuff together. CoolGames Inc is a podcast about making video games based on listener suggestions, and Car Boys is a video series where the titular boys are haunted by a nightmare glitch demon play with cars.

The internetís first food review quiz show! Justin eats some food from Sheetz and his special guest Dwight has to guess what he thinks of it based on his body language. Features what can only be called the greatest storytelling in any medium this century.

Monster Factory is Griffin and Justinís magnum opus of video game video production. They make horrifying creations in create-a-character modes and then destroy the games in which they inhabit. Itís a thing of wonder. Justin and Griffin are also involved in a lot of Polygon content, such as podcasts like Quality Control and The Besties, and several Gameplay Overviews. The gameplay overviews playlist is only updated occasionally, so you'll have to check Polygon for the most recent videos.

I've changed a lot since I started hanging with Sonic, but I can't depend on him forever. I know I can do this by myself! Okay, Eggman! Bring it on!

I'm pretty sure Griffin doesn't have his Twitch set to archive. They may be lost to the ether.

It's pretty astounding how he still completely fails to grasp the how heat actions work.

Good podcasts and good videos from good people.

I'm slowly working my way through the MBMBAM backlog, at episode 115 or something like that- but I need to step up my game and listen to them more often or I'll never keep up.

I was the one who submitted the Olive Garden Unlimited Pasta Pass to the Adventure Zone.

The fact that they bought it and have never used it I feel is completely within character.

Side note, it was originally much more expensive, and the limit was six weeks in game time, but I think they might have misunderstood that and thought I meant in real time.

I've submitted other items, but most of them weren't as interesting, just McElroy-themed versions of regular items, like a mount named Dunkey and some healing items.

Rule #1 of DnD, no elevators. Everyone knows that. It's only a matter of time before this whole charade comes toppling down.

As he should, because the only thing in D&D worse than the mechanics is the stock lore.

The idea that there is even strict lore to D&D is weird. I get if it's something where the lore is super developed and also actually interesting, but D&D just seems like one where you have some basic ideas and improvise from there.

there are pre-made established settings (some of which are actually pretty cool like Eberron [which honestly isn't too far off from Griffin's world] and Dark Sun) but for D&D podcasts like TAZ homebrew stuff is more fun and interesting to work with.
