Best UFC Debut Fight: Lando Vannata vs Tony Ferguson Vannata deserves props for coming to fight at 155lbs (normally fights at 145lbs) and nearly KO'ng Fergusn (#3 in the LW) in the opening round of his debut match. He then went on to brawl it out with Ferguson until he got submitted after, basically, giving it up. It was a great debut fight.

Maia got the sub in under two minutes and took zero damage doing it, against one of the most dangerous and resilient fighters in the WW division. RDA vs. Cerrone or Rumble vs. Bader are other examples of the same kind of thing (maybe it's exaggerating to call Bader very dangerous, but he was on a four-fight streak and would have been in line behind Jones for the title shot if he'd won).
