My AC wasn't working when I started it up this year. The system is new, as of three years ago. (I'll look up the brand..) I had my HVAC contractor come out, he refilled the system, and it's cooling now, but he believes that the problem is the evaporator coil, and that the evaporator has sprung a leak. Seriously, three years? So, what leads to early evaporator death. What's the typical manufacturer warranty on parts like that? (is there one?) What should I do to prevent it from happening again? And should I have the whole system leak tested? Thanks.
