Hahaha Bladestorm procs even if your ranger is unconscious. :allears: Stun lancer just ran up, knocked my guy out cold, guy then proceeded to get up and kill the poo poo out of the lancer before slumping over in an unconscious heap again.

Here's something that sucks: the Archon King is resistant to frost bombs now. It only lasts 1 action according to the frozen timer. Also Rend, Momentum, and Bladestorm counts as three if combined (even if you haven't done anything with Momentum yet) so the pinions are impossible to dodge. Have fun!

e: Wow there's nothing you can do about the Archon King if you have ANY actions that act in two phases. RIP my specialist.

Best trick I found for avoiding the pinions was stasis.

I think my plan for the archon king next time is to put him in Statis, surround him, then overwatch everyone before initiating the turn. Get the most damage with the least action.

Unless overwatch fire counts as an action?

Would that work though? The stasis lasts until the start of your next turn, at which point all your overwatch will be removed.

I think they spawn at facilities as you discover them in the standard order (viper, berserker, archon), but when you encounter them depends on which facilities you hit. I just finished my first WoTC campaign and never saw the Viper, for example.

Is there a bug or something in WoTC with Advent trooper corpses? I have not sold any as far as I can remember, and the game won't let me make Predator armor since I only have 5/6. Is it connected with the kind of missions I do, where a run & gun mission won't let me take corpses with me, but rather I need a "kill everything" type of clean-up mission to get some corpses?

Any mission where you evac at the end won't give you any corpses.

You sure that wasn't one where you have to shoot the little psionic relays as you go to gain extra turns? Pretty sure those are the only missions that start with such a low turn timer.

Nope they take whatever they’ve got equipped at the time, which is handy when they get ambushed cos they’ll actually have decent gear, but not so handy when you forget you left your WAR suit and disruptor rifle on someone right before a mission pops up.

Holy moly this DLC was great, I expected to just blast through a couple of boring missions to unlock some cool toys for the campaign, but the missions were legitimately fun and the ridiculous amount of new fluff and backstory made them even better. Going through the whole progression of gear and enemies in a few missions was really satisfying.

So.... weird thing. I was on mission 3 of DJ's campaign and things took a turn for the very bad. Like, not-recoverable bad. Out of pure frustrated annoyance, I decided to see what actually happened when you outright lost a legacy op - I know you lose the 5000 points for restarting, but I'd never outright failed a mission.

It gave me the little game over modal, sure enough, but it also let me restart the mission. And, curiously enough.... all of my points seem to have been rewound to where they were when I started. I don't recall exactly how many I had originally.... but I now sure as hell had more than when I died, and I'm not even sure it took off the 5000 for using a restart.

Yeah I had a similar thing happen where Tygan died accidentally on like turn 2 in his mission in the last campaign, it let me restart with no points lost and I still got the gold medal for that campaign.

Here’s a question: at what point do you unlock the new map types for the WOTC campaign mode?

You don't technically get any of the hand built EW-remake maps in campaign, but a few new modules get added to the procedural generation pool, so you can get the police station or petrol station etc show up in your maps. They're added just by owning the DLC I'm pretty sure, no completion requirements like the gear/attitudes.
