What a wimp. It doesn't look much harder to step on and off than an escalator. So, uh, what does happen if you don't get off at the top or bottom floor? I assume kids must try it, so it probably isn't certain death.

But it was sure possible to scare kids with stories about how they would be maimed if they didn't leave on time! And my uncle supposedly liked to play a joke on children, going past the top floor and re-emerging doing a hand stand as if the cabin turned upside down.

Ive always wondered what the saftey issues with these are vs elevators or even stairs. SURE you might trip and get maimed but people get maimed by elevators all the time. STATISTICS PLEASE!

Endless belt manlifts are where it's at. First time I got on one I just about poo poo my pants but they're kind of a rush. Rode up about 10 stories in the dark to the top of a grain silo.
