I have this issue with insane, consistent lag spikes right as I'm about to be peeked (the best time to get them of course). It's game-breaking at this point and I'm sad I can't seem to fix it. Never had this issue in GO nor do I currently in any other game. I'm on gigabit FiOS, wired to a switch. Wondering if there's some setting on the switch goofing with CS or something.

You should turn that setting on in your game client that tells you when you're getting network issues cause that will certainly help diagnose

There are people talking about that, all kinds of fixes proposed from cl_forcepreload 1 to disabling steam overlay. But it's CS so everyone has a bridge to sell you fix wise.

I can’t wait to come back to this game in 6 months when most of the kinks are ironed out. I couldn’t imagine being a new player playing CS2 for the first time seeing how dysfunctional Valve can be. Somehow Dota 2 has had a better matchmaking experience for the past 10 years and CS still can’t figure it out

I get the same thing but usually is temporary for a match or two until I restart... Hardwired with 17 ping so don't feel like it should be a network thing on my end

The smokes also have been updated and look pretty rad. Theres some visibility within 1', so no more guaranteed ships passing in the night through smoke. The tickrate seems to have been messed with. Subjectively, strafing and movement felt better. Dunno how to describe it, felt more like 1.6 than the weird muddy jankiness it had felt like lately. Completely subjectively, I couldn't hit an AK shot at all last night, but that's probably a me problem not a patch thing. I never played GO, were there only two Arms Race maps for it? I had fun for an hour but got bored after that.

 Game I solo queued into last night on Ancient. Teammate, the POV sniper, is walling and doesn't realize his target is actually behind the wall, in donut, not in mid. Shoots anyway. Dude went 20-0. Fun times. Good job valve, that last ban wave got em all.
