no more pot/drug trip levels, please, for the love of god. though i think it's ubi who loves that poo poo more than eidos.

/edit though i'm aware this is just glitching being glitchy.

actually, i can't even remember if I was hallucinating that pot level in hitman absolution. I wasn't, right?

well i just got booted off the server crashing my twenty seconds of exploratory looking around which is pretty annoying. hey IO/squeenix no-one actually cares about leaderboards especially since everybody has 210,000 points atm, nobody needs to be online to do challenges, thanks

I decided to write a quick review for the first time ever and holy crap the page is spammed with crybaby idiot reviews whining about online-only from people who I guess don't have reliable high-speed internet? I mean, what is the problem with needing an online connection, how in the hell else would you use steam and download games in the first place?

it's not my connection I'm miffed about. It's theirs.

Just turn opportunities off entirely. The game is designed well enough that most conversations will be obvious what the opportunity is, and there's a tab hidden away in your menu/select thing that will let you in on 'intel' without explicitly telling you what you need to do to activate the opportunities.

The only thing I think the game really needs to figure out better is a way to determine which enemies think you're suss without having to leave the white dot UI on.

The funny thing about the Paris level with the starting suit is that you can just climb a pipe near the helicopter to get to the third floor, vault over the railing where the VIPs are drinking and Bodyguards are and they won't give a poo poo that you just climbed you're way up from the ground floor.

It appears to me that pipes in this game are the everyday tool of a Hitman and that the bodyguards are not getting paid enough.

you can even do it right in front of a security guard and they'll trigger dialogue that it's really weird and you should get down from there but they don't actually seem to get suspicious

on the other hand, i tossed a dude off the balcony and assault-rifled dahlia in the face then jumped back away and they didn't cancel the fashion show or even activate the lockdown, so i suppose this game's about leeway

I was wondering about that, myself. I just completed The Showstopper for the first time (3/5 stars, I thought I did better than that :saddowns:), and after shooting Viktor onstage there was no reaction from Dahlia or her schedule. Shouldn't, uh, shouldn't someone have told her?

Vic will even call Dahlia if he meets Valerie.

Even if she's dead.

The 'events trigger on proximity' thing is a little wonky still. I swear to god Dahlia had her meeting with Helmut but moments afterwards I triggered the end of the show and he was somehow waiting at the end of the catwalk to go on. Still, I'm not entirely certain it was Helmut in the room with Dahlia, so idunno.

Who's Valerie again?

some editor lady. the news report mentions her at the beginning if you don't screw up their shot.

they chat for a bit and she mentions she's discovered the auction which freaks victor out a bit

or hell just scale any of the pipes up the back. if you've the right disguise a security guard can be looking right at you as you climb and he won't give a shiiiiiiiit.

depending on their stability promises i might just full upgrade to the whole lot instead of forking out 5 buck per 5 buck. I'm still not a fan of the always-online stuff, but I'm not enough of a not-fan to not bother picking it up.

Plus I've already spent like 15 hours on Paris + the Tutorials alone, so

/edit too many negatives in that first sentence, but I think you can ken the gist of my meaning

All of that said, I kinda liked Victoria. I just don't want to be on the friggin run with her and have to do story poo poo about it. I'm a goddamn Hitman.

I wonder if Thompson will show up in this season.

On another note - Have there ever been any genuinely virtuous targets or do only jerks end up on the hitlist? The targets this time around seem like the closest there's ever been to non-assholes (Diana excepted)

I laughed so hard in Blood Money when you have to kill the US ambassador and this opera singer, but it's okay, they're totally running a kiddie porn ring or something.

There seems to be a lot of dialogue implying a way to trigger the embassy gates to get overwhelmed so they rush the banker to the safe room (so to speak).

Also the idea that the mysterious death of a dude won't just further make the situation totally nuts is kinda funny, but I guess if you also mysteriously kill the general everyone will just wash their hands of it. Oh well!

Both the embassy and the school only having x entry points really annoys me. The school in particular feels like there should be more ways in...

it felt like you were walking in and ending a coup in an airport fiction/clancy novel. it also has my favorite execution in any of the hitman games. you sit in chair as a prisoner. then when he leans into gloat or whatever. you stand up and snap his neck. to sound like sick gently caress it felt well done. all of this dipshits grandiose plans just laid to waste with one quick twist of the hands and no one will even notice.

I'm very sad there seems to be no way to knock out the general, switch him with the prisoner, and have him shot by his own men.

It doesn't really make any logical sense and is far more convoluted than any reasonable plan, but it would've been really cool.

Same with not being able to get the lady to kill the biochemist in Sapienza, that would've been pretty cool.

the japanese attendants 'konbanwa' and 'ogenki-desuka' is real bad lmao. I think the AI is the only natural japanese voice actor since her name pronounciation is pretty good.

also I think the mechanic is listening to korean or chinese radio?
