While the area is much larger and better than Paris, I feel the mission this time is hampered by the "Destroy the virus" goal. As far as I can tell there's only two ways to accomplish the objective, and that makes it basically busy work after the first few playthroughs.

Unless, if you save a game after completing only that goal, then finish the mission in some way, can you reload the save and finish the mission in some other way and still get credited for the new challenges?

In general, how challenges unlock in this game seems weird. It seems if I get a challenge popup, then load a previous save and finish the mission with it, the challenge shows up as unlocked.

I just wish there were more plot-centric missions in the huge levels they've made. Killing the same people that follow the same patterns, even in various inventive ways, gets old quick. And I don't really like the Escalation mode since you're much more locked in than in the normal game.

Anyone know how to do the "An eye for an eye" kill, by the way?

There's a unlockable large Agency drop in the sewers beneath the church, so getting a sniper riple up there is just a matter of sneaking past a priest or two. Also, you can ring the dinner bell with a sniper bullet.

Anyone found if Mario and Luigi (Red and green plumbers) have any special dialog or anything? Also, I wonder if both their clothes count in the "wear all disguises" achievement.

Well that went...less well than expected. Subdued The Forger's guard and choked him to death but was caught dragging his body. Had to sprint to the exit, but elusive target down.

Is there any bonus for getting Silent Assassin on Elusive Targets other than the extra XP?

(Also, did some stuff re-lock for people in a recent patch? Some of my starting locations are unavailable though I unlocked them a while ago)

Square Enix sent out a survey regarding Elusive Targets, might be worth filling out if you feel strongly about them:

I didn't manage anything spectacular, just sniped him from the clock tower while he was in front of the house. Did have a close call trying to get out, I didn't move fast enough on the way down and almost ran into the guards running up to investigate. Managed to duck into that weird unused office and get out of an alternate exit.

I did basically the same, except I sniped from the attorney's office on the second floor. Made escaping quicker. One bad thing about these being one shot challenges is that I decide to pick the path of least resistance/least chance of failure. Can't be creative with my kills when I only get one chance.

I had a really hard time actually finding the target - I guess he was in the wine cellar when I searched the house, then when I restarted with another disguise and searched the chellar he decided to hang around in the library. Was a bit disappointed that he started in the house - as before, the majority of Sapienza is totally underused.

Also, I found a way to confirm your elusive targets actually were counted - they don't show up under the "main" list of challenges etc, but under the "career" tab you can see them on the individual level statistics.

Is it possible to have the targets meet up? I triggered the fire alarm and escorted the banker but he just stops outside the school perimeter, and the general is just standing in a doorway in school and admiring some dudes in formation

edit: Loading a saved game made the sequence progress.

There are some feats where it says "kill five targets in this way" - does it refer to just anyone, or is this something related to the PS4 exclusive stuff that they forgot to remove?

I noticed they missed a huge opportunity with the prisoner guy: Instead of taking his place, you should also have been able to free him and give him a weapon, making him do the deed instead.

drat that Headmaster's revenge. I got to find some children's paintings as one of the objectives but there is no indication whether I've "found" one or not. Does just waving the camera in their general direction work, or do I have to right click, or use instinct, or what? Are all the paintings in the school?

Also found the waiter dude - he's in an alley close to your original starting location. He actually makes it hilariously easy to assassinate the general - just bring with you some lethal poison, drop some into the food he will eat, then wake the waiter. Then you can start intricate schemes about how to kill the Swede and the other kill will just pop up out of nowhere after a while.

I hope one of the future level 20 mastery rewards is a bulletproof vest. They've given you a lot of powerful guns, but since you're as tough as a wet paper towel they're basically useless unless you find a spot you can funnel the guards through.

It's weird how they change the UI around so much. Before the latest patch the Elusive Target list was nice and clean, now it's a mess where you have SASO accomplishments next to accomplishments for killing the targets. And if you manage to kill a target but get killed before you can escape, it still shows up in that list.

Himmapan Horror was on the start screen so I took a quick look. The challenges talk about murdering like 5 targets at a time, but the mission only has two, how does that work?

User-made contracts. There are probably now contracts made specifically to fulfill the challenge.

Fatty posted:

Also whats the criteria for not being spotted? Does it matter if the guys you kill spot you? Is there an obvious sign if you are spotted?

Don't think it matters if the target spots you, but if anyone else makes the border around your minimap change and status goes to "suspicious" you have been spotted.

Also cameras, of course.

Weird pricing on Steam - the bonus campaign is priced at $9.99 and the outfit DLC is priced at $14.99. You can't buy them separately anyway, and the bundle is $20, but it feels like you're being "ripped off" by paying a lot extra for a few suits.
