So what I've learned from the last two pages is: - OK Computer is overrated - Jonny Greenwood is a "Zionist" - Thom Yorke is a "Zionist" - We need to find out which side of the line Colin and Phil are on - I should be paying attention to Roger loving Waters' Substack Y'all need serious therapy.

They always say that you should listen when people tell you who they are, and Thom told us who he was all the way back in 1992!!! Seriously though, what a bitch.

yeah man, it's been two years of this poo poo, people've had time to see the facts and make their own opinions. Israel is committing genocide, quite openly and plainly. If you're still on their side in this, you're the baddie.

I dunno, I think "Netanyahu and his crew of extremists are totally out of control and need to be stopped, and that the international community should put all the pressure it can on them to cease. Their excuse of self-defence has long since worn thin and has been replaced by a transparent desire to take control of Gaza and the West Bank permanently. I believe this ultra-nationalist administration has hidden itself behind a terrified & grieving people and used them to deflect any criticism, using that fear and grief to further their ultra-nationalist agenda with terrible consequences, as we see now with the horrific blockade of aid to Gaza" seems like a pretty thorough critique of Israel. Could've done without the hostages comparison though, since it's clear they've been a non-factor for ages. Honestly though Thom Yorke not saying the word "genocide" doesn't make what's happening not a genocide but it also doesn't mean I'm gonna boycott Radiohead's music or anything. I don't need the artists I like to validate my political beliefs.

trem_two posted:Congrats on spotting the reason for the criticism he’s been receiving, well done! Yeah, exactly. It's mealy-mouthed both-sidesing. At this point no-one can possibly plead ignorance to what's going on, and it couldn't be more clear. We are deep, deep, deep into "which side are you on, boys?" territory, and fence-sitting is siding with Israel, full stop. Oh, and also he's still doing the "this is all on mean old Netanyahu and his gang", which is how you know you've got a fascist apologist on your hands. The genocidal ethnostate is the problem, not the guy who is currently in charge of it. It's pretty pathetic stuff from a guy who has been styling himself as right-on for the last three decades or so. He sure as poo poo ain't walking the walk now

Seems inevitable that if they are ever going to put out another album, it won't be before May 2026, in which case it'll have been 10+ years since AMSP. Which is kind of nuts when you consider that in a previous ten year span they released OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief, and In Rainbows.

Personally I thought all three The Smile albums were excellent and I enjoyed each one much more than TKOL & AMSP. This year seems like a good time for them to get together in the studio again and I hope that if they do that Jonny steering Thom into releasing songs sooner rather than later is something that continues with Radiohead. I'd also be very happy with more albums from The Smile if Radiohead doesn't get together again. Stanley Donwood uploaded some new art on Instagram the other day which people think is from some unannounced Radiohead project. It does seem Radiohead-y but it's probably not related. Thom put out a new song a week ago. It's a theme for a new TV show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DL4mtAIpPcU

Would’ve been cooler if they did a live record from the 2002 tour with the early versions of all those songs but whatever i still instantly shoved money in their face for this thing.

Nice drop, the live versions of these songs compete with the originals since the band has had time to reflect on them. Go To Sleep beats the recorded version imho with a jam outro that kicks the song up in the last stretch. The audience during We Suck Young Blood trying their best to hit the syncopated clapping is cool. The band even has some tricks up their sleeve on Myxomatosis the ending of which dips its toes into a prog riff, yeah I'm loving saying it. The band still seems to have trouble with A Wolf At the Door, and I'm afraid that song will never get its due. I really want that song to rip my face off.
