As time goes on and the nights get lighter I find myself loving The King of Limbs more and more. Maybe my third favorite after In Rainbows and Kid A. Re album length, I think this gets it just about right. 40-45 minutes, 8-10 songs. The negative for me is how drastically divided the record is. It sounds like two distinct sides, one being noticeably inferior (tracks 1-4). The second half is a joy though.

The Moon Shaped Pool is still a beautiful fog for me so far. Also, hey this thread title was prescient :)

Electioneering is awful. Radiohead do generic rock. Those vocals too. Yuck.

Can't get enough of Decks Dark. Would've been a great album opener with the fade in. Very similar to most of King of Limbs. Very chill. Very beach.

I think since because it was the newest Radiohead for a while, its polarizing response left a lot of fans unsure where the band was going. Since AMSP came out, I think people are now seeing it in a new perspective, and where it fits in the discography.

I also listened to TKOL after marathoning the new album a few times, and even if I was a fan of it before, I think I love it even more. It's the loveable oddball of their work.

Thank you, that makes perfect sense. AMSP feels connected to TKOL, it helps the latter fit into the ouvre. For some, I guess. I loved The King of Limbs from play 1.

Bloom though, while I'm into it, I don't get why you're all going crazy over the live versions. Maybe because I'm not a drummer. I like it but it's one of the weaker songs on a very good record.

I tend to skip the first two tracks because I listened to them roughly a million times in the week before the album came out

Yeah plus I don't think burn the witch is a great opener, nor do I like the contrast in tones between that and daydreaming. I skip to Decks Dark often & listen to it on its own often. It takes me back to TKOL. Guess I loved that album more than I thought. I do think Ful Stop is a bit of a handbrake. Not really into that. Particularly at that point in the record.

From Deck Darks onward the album has an airy tone to itself that you don't really hear in Burn the Witch and Daydreaming.

Yes. Perfectly worded! There's an air of claustrophobia in the first two songs, BTW particularly.

Is there a professional recording of the primavera set?

The reason I ask about the primavera set is because I was there and they were promoting a live stream of the event. Can't see anything legit on YouTube though.
