are there any songs we know for sure were recorded for AMSP but not used other than Lift and Ill Wind? we already got one, and I can't imagine they'd just put Lift out by itself. Maybe Cut A Hole?

Amok is quite good but the title track has the loudest loving wood block sound ever and it make an otherwise-great song completely unlistenable

I think of the two shows they've done so far more than half of the sets were unique to each show. Even if you were to look at the setlist you'd still get a lot of surprises I think

Thom said at the second Chicago show that the band would be back at some point, so I imagine we'll get another tour down the road and I don't think they'll still be touring AMSP in another 3-5 years

AMSP is one of their best probably. Amok is pretty good but the title track has some percussive sound that's mixed so outrageously loud that it completely ruins the song for me

Was pretty disappointed on first listen how much it just felt like AMSP 2 - little more rock to it but overall felt very slow. But I've already caught myself playing individual tracks and enjoying them more so I'm sure it'll grow on me with further listening.

The post-TKOL period of singles is really underrated. I've probably listened to Staircase more than any other RH track the past few years.
I know TKOL was (and probably still is) considered a pretty mediocre effort, but I loved it and with all the great supplemental material that era has probably wound up being one of my favorites for the band.

Extremely strong album, no real weak spots. If I had to pick one disappointment, it's the muddy reverb-laden production on the climax of Bending Hectic. Otherwise it exceeded my expectations in every way. You Know Me is an incredibly good album closer.

edit: Weird, I've only listened to ALFAA like three times because it struck me as an insanely mellow album aside from a couple of tracks, whereas Wall of Eyes feels like it has a bit more teeth, even in the slower songs, largely thanks to way more interesting production. I've already listened to it three times and it held my interest the entire way.
Agreeing pretty much completely with this. I think the album is much more dynamic and attention grabbing than ALFAA, which I think gets boring in spots.

It’s good but it feels like there’s no concept behind it. Like they were just riffing out a bunch of songs and since they had enough that fit together for over 40 minutes it was time to release an album.

It's funny because this is exactly how I feel about ALFAA, while I think WoE is pretty strongly linked thematically through all the lyrics about surveillance and paranoia
