Daydreaming is really cool, but it's kinda scary. Like an even more stark How to Disappear where you spend the whole song going into the "underwater" part but never come out :sigh:

Remaster sounds great, better quality than I had for a lot of this stuff for sure. Palo Alto has at least an enhanced intro/outro- and let's take this time 20 years later to, once again, remember how much Pearly owns.

The burnt-up OK Computer cover thumbnail is going to haunt me forever.

Effective advertising for music ended with those blips. I distinctly remember watching MTV and seeing the one with the bear-faced reaper on the boat with the "I will see you in the next life" line (12:45 in the video), and eventually searching down the whole album 15+ years ago. It's the album that got me into music and the disjointed mystique that began with those blips has unraveled for me ever since. I don't even know that I'd call it my favorite Radiohead album because it's pretty harrowing, but it's ingrained in me.

There are longer Bends-y jam versions of True Love Waits, Paranoid Android, Airbag, and Let Down; True Love Waits being the standout. You could just about cut an LP with this tracklisting:

Airbag
Paranoid Android
Exit Music
Let Down
Electioneering
No Surprises
True Love Waits

maybe some other stuff in there

Yeah actually seems like they uploaded all the music videos and other assorted media in the highest quality they had.

Never even saw this one before:

No wonder the Pyramid Song video always compressed so poorly; there's compression artifacts used in it stylistically. Now you can actually see the detail; look there's the "astral car" even!

Wowow this Colbert appearance is great and Comedy Central never released more than a few bits of it:

Someone gets really excited when Thom says he's going to play Fog:

This audio became a B-side I think?

Why is the original version of Fog so disliked (including, apparently, by Thom)? It's probably my favourite b-side. I guess it's too 'nice'...?

Thom has called it "silly" I think because he doesn't like the lyrics. I guess they are kind of vague, but I always liked the lyrics and the foggy imagery. Sometimes I wonder if it's a case of "The Bends" where he doesn't want people to take it too seriously, so he downplays the song.

I know have Anima, The Eraser and TMB on vinyl and I still can't believe how loving good Thom's solo stuff is.

I remember not thinking too much of The Eraser when it came out, but it really is a lovely, cohesive album worthy of deserving of its own pen-name. Each track really stands on its own but carries the Eraser vibe. The album peaks going with 'Rained all Night' into "Harrowdown Hill", which Thom said was "the most angry song" he'd ever written, so that goes for something. It really lends to the album's clean, darkly-playful minimalist tone though.

Check out the video for Harrowdown Hill on vimeo if you haven't

The anima movie was cool but the music was definitely the least interesting part for me personally. The eraser is good but atoms for peace and tomorrow’s modern boxes were incredibly disappointing.

Anima has some cool music, Dawn Chorus is especially substantial. I tend to agree with the other stuff being underwhelming but this is a cool song/video

I don't really listen to All I Need, Bodysnatchers, Jigsaw, House of Cards, Faust Arp, or Videotape. But I love the other ones. In Rainbows is a bit of a b-side album for me, considering a lot of the songs never fit anywhere else and were pushed out to clear the back catalog.

I don’t find the band depressing because the melancholy stuff is spiked with spite and rebellion, Kid A being a good example. Even at his lowest Thom packs a gun and cigarettes; even No Surprises talks about bringing down the government.
AMSP is loving sad though
