Anyone going to their show tonight? Best I can tell is that doors open at 5 (at least for GA) and the show is at 7:30. Don't think there's an opener but can't say that definitively.

That seemed kind of unlikely so I did some digging, it's Junun.

It's the most bother I've put up with in terms of live music. Not interested in doing it again but it was a great show.

Live event security is basically TSA at this point which freaks me the gently caress out.

Somewhat related, There Will Be Blood is getting a vinyl release. I'll probably pick this one up, great score.

Before Radiohead splits, I want them to come out of nowhere and end their career with a PH-esque album of shameless, sometimes questionable, guitar pop.

I feel like it should be obvious but I'm trying to figure out who/what PH is in this context and I got nothing. Peter Hook?

Honestly who cares if music is risky or innovative. I just want it to sound good. They often go hand in hand but it's not like risky automatically equals good. Pop songs are cool too.

This is why people hate Radiohead fans

It shouldn't come as any surprise but it doesn't mean the live show isn't typically boring as hell

sometimes you buy the ticket and go to the show because it DOES seem like something you would be into and then it turns out to be loving boring, oh well

I learned my lesson with this when I saw Mike Paradinas in like 2004. I think he was performing as μ-Ziq at that particular time and it was him standing on stage of this little club staring at his MacBook. No visuals, no crowd interaction, no nothing. I'm still convinced that he was just looking at porn and playing us MP3s.

The Kraftwerk example doesn't hold water because the visuals are super awesome

They're pretty much all working on independent projects now. I wouldn't expect a new group album any time soon.

Thom Yorke is the same age that Bob Dylan was in 1994. That seems really strange to me.

I purposely saw Bob Dylan live in 2000 because I was convinced that he was old as poo poo and was going to die imminently.

Was it a good show? The 99/00/01 tours were special. But definitely see him on this current tour cause it’s incredible. And he’s 81 years old and all that. Bob chat.

Honestly I barely remember at this point. My only real enduring memory was that he did not address the crowd much, if at all. Just played some songs and went on his way.

Honestly I couldn't necessarily recite a whole lot of their lyrics even though I know the songs pretty well. Sometimes when I actually read the lyrics I'm surprised because the song seems to be about something totally different than I thought.

This is how I am. I always listen to lyrics/singing more as another instrument. I can sing a lot of my favorite songs word for word but if you asked me what any of them were actually about I could rarely tell you. It's particularly pronounced with Radiohead - the lyrics/singing are more of a mood setter to me than something I pay any particular attention to. No idea what Thom is on about in 99% of their songs but I know it sounds cool.
