I tried to find the context for it earlier. One news article suggested they were moving actual cash, but it was a poo poo article that mostly paraphrased Reddit, so I didn’t link it. There was a heist of cell phones in transit a month or two ago in Johannesburg that got much more news coverage, but that was clearly a different event from the timestamp, coordinates, and photos.

Ranger tries to block to the left, but the driver sees what they're trying to do, after loving up the robbers' fast mover. It was over after first contact, but you can't let them know that. Driver eventually rams the BMW onto a bollard, then goes to work securing the crash site after destroying the truck he's driving.

The last 5 seconds of the first video where he exits the cab, rifle in hand, to take on the robbers is  I saw a CIT being loaded at a bank a couple of times when I lived in SA. I also frequently read about them being robbed, with the guards and drivers being burned, shot, or otherwise mutilated horribly. Poor sods.
