How bad is wearing a retainer? I know they're important so your teeth don't shift back, but they seem less comfortable than the braces... I guess at least you can take them out.

I nearly swallowed my lower retainer a few times and it terrified me so much I stopped wearing it. I didn't really need it that much, thank goodness.
