Fundamentals as sound as the WNBA

Are you ready for gas fests across four continents? Heavyweights will battle in Australia, Europe, another place in Europe, North America and South America! We'll pick Mir vs Hunt, Junior vs Friend Ben, Demolished Man vs Demolition Man and then for the Heavyweight Championship of the World the season finishes out in mid May.

2 Months, 3 Rounds of Cardio, 7 Events.

Last Season former Arch Duke of the Goonweight GP dethroned LobsterMobster to win the Season 20 strap! The RNG made an impressive showing and lots of people were Lamentable Dustmen. Will the thrills and chills continue this season?

About the Goonweight GP

Welcome to Season 20 of the Goonweight GP! Every week you'll see a new UFC card posted, you'll post your picks, then you'll watch the show and have more fun because some guy you've never heard of can net you an extra point if he can finish this before the end of the second round. You'll have even more fun when the judges rob someone and you get points for that.

A few days before every card, I'll post the fights on the main card with a FORM and a SPREADSHEET. Fill out the form (or post you picks in the thread), and then check the spreadsheet to make sure your picks are in there correctly. When the card is over and I sober up, I'll calculate the results and post standings.

CERTIFIED RULES OF THE GRAND PRIX

  • Picks can be submitted via the Form, or in the thread, though I prefer you do both.
  • Picks must be submitted before the start of the Main Card to be eligible. Picks submitted after that point are considered null and void. Please pay attention to time zones, especially for European cards.
  • Same goes if you edit a post with picks in it after the main card starts.
  • If you wish to change your picks before the main card starts, make a separate post in the thread and I'll update the Form for you.
  • Points for each match are scored as follows
    • 3 points for picking the winner correctly
    • If you picked the correct winner, 1 bonus point for calling the round the fight finished
    • If you picked the correct winner, 1 bonus point for calling the method of finish (KO or Sub or Decision)
    • A fight that end in decision is not considered ending in a round
    • "OTNs" are given out for correctly picking the Fight, and the two Performances of the Night. These award no points, but are used to break a tie at the end of the season
    • On each card you can pick two POTN. If you pick the same person twice, I'll manually delete one.
  • Commission reserves the right to award no points for a fight based on really weird situations
  • Whoever has the highest combined score at the end of the season wins!

Too confusing? Please consult this handy flowchart to determine your score for a fight:

Here is the current season lineup:

SEASON 18

Upcoming Cards

UFC 196: 3/5/16
Fight Night Mir vs Hunt 3/20/16
Fight Night Dos Santos vs ROTHWELL 4/10/16

UFC 197 4/23/16
Fight Night Arlovski vs Overeem 5/8/16
UFC 198 5/14/16

That's right, another SEVEN CARD SEASON! A couple of these cards have a six day gap so that'll be fun.

also had a weird loving dream where I saw Connor win in Rd1 by KO and Meisha subbed due to strikes in round 2, so I put that as 2nd round KO.

Then I just guessed the other fights because

Congrats to DUMBWHITEGUY this week's winner and the early front runner in Season 21! Sure someone else tied on points but they lost on tiebreakers so it's not even worth mentioning whoever that was! acai moonsault and Mr. Carlisle had a bit less luck, earning Lamentable Dustmen for the biggest UFC in history. The RNG meanwhile predicted both main event upsets and nothing else.
