I feel this needs a re-post from the old thread.

It's flour. Have you people never seen an actual proper loaf of sourdough bread?

You guys are like one degree off from describing "spread", which is a prison thing :v:

To break the monotony of prison mess hall chow, there's an entire "cuisine" that revolves around crushed up chips and ramen noodles that you cook in the dorito bag. Basically anything you can buy at the prison commissary and then cook in water that you heated up in the microwave. Add tuna if you want there to be something besides empty carbs and salt.

I guess this a good time to post these again.

chicken probably is superior (in flavor) "undercooked" but because of farming and slaughtering practices in the usa (and other places, but i can only speak about the us from knowledge) you really really don't want to do this

It's pretty much the same here in Sweden, and I imagine the rest of western Europe. When our FDA tested chicken recently about 15-20% contained Campylobacter, which isn't as bad as Salmonella, but still bad enough that you want to avoid eating rare chicken. Organic and free range chicken had a larger chance of being contaminated than industrial raised chickens.

They found practically no contaminated beef, pork or lamb.

There was a quick minute of putting every food item into a waffle maker going around a little while ago, but waffling hashbrowns and falafel are both totally legit. Waffling tater tots is borderline.

Nah, pizza either has bearnaise or a kebab on it around these parts. This is an orderly country where we do have rules and abide by them.

That is clearly a taco.

Maybe I missed something because I watched it with no sound, but that pizza looks delicious.

Raw salmon is meant to be frozen, according to FDA guidelines, is it not? To kill parasites.

I don't know about the FDA, but here in Sweden that was the recommendation up until a few years ago. These days at least farmed Norwegian Salmon is considered parasite free and the regulatory agency considers it ok to consume raw without prior freezing.

Oh. That makes sense. It looked fresh so I thought it was just a garnish. :downs: I have never sous-vided. I thought it was a weird pressed meat slab because of the little lines!

The lines are from the vacum bags. Food Saver style vacum machines use bags with a grid pattern of tiny ridges to make the air extraction more eficcient.

A langoustine tail, some emulsion and probably leek ash, is my guess. It probably is pretty great.

Looks like deep fried lotus root to me, and the dish looks perfectly fine and normal.
