I hate it when people mix starches. That's too many different empty calorie starches! Why wouldn't you just omit the lasagna noodles, they don't add anything to the dish.

Well, I think they're supposed to be the dumpling dough part of the pierogi, but yeah lasagna is a very different mouthfeel overall.

It may have been good with cabbage leaves in place of noodles.

Because, seriously, this was all soft and nasty and sucked and I didn't want to send out turkey pudding. So, yeah, that went well. Ran into one of the nurses a couple of years later, and she told me she was happy I left. When I gave her my patented "blank stare of incredulity" she told me she had been gaining weight during my tenure. I refused to feed the patients anything I wouldn't eat myself, and the nursing staff got special breakfast dishes if they wanted them.)

I guess I'm wondering, how much do Canadians care about poutine sanctity. Are there poutine rules?

They'd just come up behind you and stove your head in with a mindless peck. Then when you collapsed and died, they'd vigorously consume your flesh a beak-full at a time, rolling your flaccid corpse in the dirt with their talons.
