A shitty post? This calls for a dance of deduction.
So a friend of mine found a Dreamcast in the dumpster. He didn't want it and let me have it. I tested the system and it works fine.

My question is, what games are worth getting that are exclusive to the system?

So far I have my eye on:

Beserk: Gut's Rage
Powerstone (technically on PSP but I heard that version runs at half the frame rate so...)
Bangai-O
Shenmue
Maken X

Are all of these good games?

I really liked Seventh Cross: Evolution. Very much like EVO for the SNES but the upgrade system is more in-depth.

Where does it hurt?
There's some dude making GD-ROM replacements that use a SD card.

I kind of want one just because dreamcast emulation sucks and GD-ROMs both die extremely fast and are really noisy and loud.

For anyone not familiar, Frame Gride is a cross between Armored Core and Virtual-On. It's quite good.

What's the cheapest and/or easiest way to play import games on the Dreamcast?

You burn them. You don't have to mod the console at all unless you want one of the GDROM mods that replaces the GDROM with a usb reader.

Is burning games really that easy on a Dreamcast? Are burnt games suspect to bugs and what not?

I know this is usually a bad thing to bring up on the forum but they don't sell Dreamcast games anymore so...

If you're going to burn CDs, just get the proper iso's and burn it at the slowest speed possible. You might burn out your laser a bit more quickly, but dreamcasts are cheap enough.

Also, as long as we are not linking poo poo, there's nothing wrong with talking about burning CDs for a dead console whose games are not for sale anymore.

How much more quickly? 10% more wear? 33%?

Serious question.

Dreamcast was notorious for having basically 0 copy protection and a lot of people pirated games for it. It's mentioned a lot because there was a wider discrepancy between hardware and software sales compared to its competitors and it probably cost Sega untold millions. The PSP was also really easy to crack and it's why the Vita is a fortress and whenever somebody finds even the most innocuous exploit Sony will patch it within a day, despite them never making any games for it
