Was I the only one here who didn't know about these strange beasts? http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Lamborghini/Countach/Etobicoke/Ontario/5_24855685_ON20080116103120953/?showcpo=ShowCPO&orup=39_15_40 At first I thought my eye was playing tricks on me, then I thought "Oh they have a second spoiler for it for some reason, stupid dicks shouldn't rest it on the paint though"

Holy poo poo, that's a 5mph bumper.

It was for bumper requirements

Cars that cost over 100k should be free from all requirements. When rich people die we all win, inheritance taxes.

That car used to look so cool... I wish I could be 8 again, I'd go back and re-do elementary school.

With all due respect to Burt, The Gumball Rally was always more my bag.

I always loved the opening to Speed Zone. I think the car skipping thing was tried on Mythbusters with a Fiero. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdcIhqO6G9Y

I'm guessing the interior is white so that cocaine spills aren't noticeable?

Thelonious posted:With all due respect to Burt, The Gumball Rally was always more my bag. Same. I've got both movies on a double-feature DVD.

That car is awesome. For anyone who grew up in the 80s and had anything for cars that was the ultimate bad rear end beast. Cannonball Run and the hot lady drivers didn't hurt. Today it's eclipsed by any modern supercars by all the measurable metrics but the design and history are still there. If I were loaded I'd have one. Also Leno's garage piece on his is excellent, as are all of the few vids of his I have watched. If he's being truthful it has been a solid car for him, daily driven for years.

The Countach is everything a supercar is supposed to be; loud, Italian, tasteless excess, and an aerodynamic brick. Post Audi-buyout Lamborghinis, or even the Diablo, despite their best intentions and target demographic, are nowhere near as iconic.
