With frequent stops for to tell him he is very impressive. I think most of mine would use it if I actually mounted it on the wall over my head, nose that I think about it. Of course, as long as I was there to tell them they are very impressive. Basically, any time they get non-poo-ghost related zoomies.

Exercise for the sake of it without any inherent incentive like play, food, socialisation or just plain curiosity is a very human idea. A static wheel in a room isn't very compelling unless you can conceptualise the concept of healthy living, and even then it's a stretch for a lot of people. It needs a laser pointer halfway up, is what I'm saying.

One that has semi- randomized movements. My cats stop playing if they feel I’m not giving it my all with the laser pointer or cat dancer.

A static wheel in a room isn't very compelling unless you can conceptualise the concept of healthy living, and even then it's a stretch for a lot of people. Except rodents, who love it. Some scientists set up exercise wheels with cameras in a forest in Europe and wild mice started using them immediately. Next most common users were slugs for some reason. Anyway the point is, animals will tend to do things they find enjoyable even if it's not productive. Edit: beaten, but it was an important message

Busket Posket posted:“We get to actually see him act like a cat for a minute, which is very sweet.” That lady is a pro follow on Tiktok as she lives with a very large colony of feral cats in her neighborhood. She feeds them, takes them to the vet when injured and adopts out the ones that can be tamed. The cats also have great names and lots of history, like how Sad Boy and Lola are two older cats who are completely in love.
